Hi guys, after seeing all the interest in the HG for Op Sealion i was thinking about starting a group on the forum for the Home Guarders online. Any thoughts?

Why not, there are quite a few of us either showing an interest in Home Guard or already putting the kit together.
Must be an age thing :(

Stupid boy!

Sorry can't resist it.

There'll be a load of us old codgers so you'll feel at home. For the record I will not be portraying mainwaring - just got off the beach at dunkirk - honest.

Nice idea, but unless relying on the few games with 'alternative history' scenarios and also based around the invasion of England; who'd you fight against?

A forum for "other allied" might be a good idea, a suitable home for the Irregulars like the Home Guard/resistance and "other strangeness" (French, Polish etc). Just like the axis have a general forum.

To the tune of "Mademoiselle from Armentières"

Napoleons army ran away, As you do
The guard stood firm for Frances Pride, As you do
They said the guard will stand and die
But we heard what their Colonel cried
It wasn't pretty I tell you.

Well, going off at a tangent of What ifs' and alternative history, "A Very British Civil War" is proving popular in tabletop wargame circles.

Rather like the Ian McKellen Richard III

It's actually something myself and Gadge have discussed at length, but we can't see it taking off in airsoft, tbh.

I don't usually mind going against the grain, but I'm afraid that you'd have trouble getting enough players for a game along those lines. I see your point in that it could make for an interesting scenario, but I think you'd struggle convincing enough players to try it, to make it worth a game.
I like the idea of a home guard look, but as the guys said, after Sealion, what other scenario could you use HG for?

Does Sealion have to be just one game?

titles in the style of old serials

Sealion 2: Göring revenge (German Para heavy?)
Sealion 3: The Return of Hess (AKA Run Rudolf Run), the Führer wants his biographer back and sends a flying column.
Sealion 4: The British Empire Strikes back.
Sealion 5: The last of the Matildas

:slap:

OK, Maybe over enthusiastic

I'm liking the idea, we could always do post invasion as well, a sort of partisan kind of thing/ germans clenaing up.
