I am just wondering if there is any chance that this http://www.epicmilitaria.com/product.ph ... anzer-wrap might have been used by the heer infantry? And if so, could it have been used in conjunction with Y straps, mp40 pouches etc. I am going for a late war heer loadout btw.

Many thanks.

No mate, you would not see Heer Infantry in Panzer Wraps. But they do Splinter Smocks if you like that patton, that would be ok for late war Heer Infantry.

Late war panzer grenadiers of certain divisions wore the 'Special Uniform' ie the Stug wrap. This is the field grey version of the black panzer wrap. Not really what you show here but the same basic cut, just missing the pocket. there are a couple of threads on here that deal with the subject. If it's the style rather than the camo you like this might be an option for you.
Panzer Lehr wore it in Normandy, 116th Pzr Div a little later on the western front and the GD had it in the east.

Any thoughts?

Well, to be honest, about a year ago I really wanted a splinter tunic, because they look so cool...

But then I came to my senses and realised how rare such an item was. How many photos do you see of them, compared with plain Feldgrau? I have since "deblinged" my uniforms, and gone for the typical Heer look - Feldgrau.

Isn't it funny how many of us have been down the same route. My first purchase was a panzer wrap in Oakleaf based on a picture in an Osprey book. It has never even seen the light of day so $75 wasted.

If you want versatility then a M36 tunic works for literally any Heer scenario. If you like camo then maybe consider Waffen SS. A plane tree camo smock is also extremely versatile for a load of European scenarios and has the added bonus that wearing a tunic underneath is optional and you therefore don't need swastikas or SS runes.

The chaps above speak sense, go as general as possible with your first purchase for maximum flexabilty. Plus fieldgrey is the new camo.

I'd stay away from that spearhead tunic for sure though, its splinter B (luftwaffe) and I've never seen one like it. It does look nice and I'd be tempted for using it as a drinking uniform but not much else.

Thanks for the advice guys. Now that I have got my weapons sorted (mp40, stg44, tanaka k98 etc) I should hopefully be getting a M40 feldgrau uniform, along with a splinter camo smock, and a lot of other axis gubbins at war and peace.
