We in the Axis ranks are aware that the Allies are continuing their training and it's reaping benefits for them at events. I'm proposing that we try again to organise a training day for us. Areas covered will be:
- range estimation
- camouflage
- infantry squad tactics
...and possibly other things also.
The training days we did as Hohenstaufen were great fun, and a relaxed atmosphere where you could ask questions, try things out, see what worked and what didn't.

Obviously whether people can attend is partly dependent on when and where, but it'll likely be in the midlands area-ish, and when there is a gap between other events. Cost will be reasonably low. PLEASE THINK BEFORE YOU VOTE - it would be pointless for people to reply yes when in reality they just think it's a nice idea, but wouldn't attend themselves. Only vote yes if you really want to attend such a day. (There will always be a certain percentage who really want to come but can't because of availability for that day - nobody will be "held to their word"!)

Depends I guess as many when you're thinking of doing something. For me (Che as well) Re-enactment wise I'm not free to commit until after middle of October. At which point its Che and Carls bopdays and they'll be looking for a bopday boys excursion airsofting (god forbid this year they have to openday it  )

Op alsos sounds like bopday excursion (Che have you noted this?) So back to the point when do you think you'll have this merry sojourn into a cohesive unit (we can after all drink in syncronisation )

Well, good question, Helga - the poll has been open 14 days now, and we only have 11 people interested. A certain percentage won't be able to make whatever date we do, due to practical reasons, so it's borderline whether we have enough people yet anyway. We also need to see what events are going ahead, to assess where there might be a suitable gap to slot ourselves in.

I know it's right down on the south coast and therefore not practical for all of Army Group South to attend but you are welcome to have full use of EAG Worthing if it's not on our regular game day, provided that you book it with me first. I didnt reply to the post Andy because I cant commit to travelling far on the weekends I'm not running the site.

Germans are welcome to my tactical training day, which focuses on sniper skills but which are also very handy for patrolling and general fieldcraft.

I'm up for this 100%, but can not make any weekend now until October! I have a sorry life really, don't I?
Having been to the Doughboys training day as the Axis spy and seen how they and us opperate on game days, I would say that we need it. They, the allies, have a coherance that we currently lack and I suspect we are currently keeping up with them due to firepower and determination. Add a bit of skill and coherance learnt from working together on a training day and we can put them back in their place, especially those American chappies.
Do we need to start suggesting some dates and venues?

To be honest, the next available slot would probably not be until November - with all the associated weather and short daylight hours.

Well, great news about the training / game day at Matlock on 27th September - should be an excellent day, and one that all Axis players will benefit from.

(Shame I can no longer get that day off. )
