It should be, because the export for GB is also a main idea of this company, I dont know what and how they will handle it, but no part of this model was ever a weapon, it is constructed as a blank firing model.... you dont think it is legal????

Usual British cynicism?

Better to have a nice surprise and find out it is legal, than get your hopes up and have them dashed upon the rocks of British law...

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

I have only the infos from the producer, they told us on the I.W.A., that it will be a version produced for GB regarding your law, how your law is, I dont know, thats why I have allways to ask about it..... I wish you luck, that you can have it in UK.

It's simple really, UK gun laws are a joke the world over. If it's gun shaped - ban it or legislate against it, making it almost impossible to own. Then a few upper middle class lefties can sleep safe at night knowing they are saving the country. (I'm feeling a bit cynical today!).

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

Do we know then, Why this particular specification of "Non Gun" ,..is apparently illegal ? I was hoping to know today, but will not be able to speak to the Geezer who can enlighten me ,until tomorrow. Soon as I have the accurate info, I will post it up,......I was hoping someone may have beaten me to it ! :)

sh_t i hate the uk i could go out and buy a 150pound cross bow and kill at least 20 people from a roof top, then hack and slash my way out the building with my meat clever from my kitchen, then when this has gone blunt i could throw it at the nearest tax collector with that gone i could then use my fork and spoon to make a mess of my old school teacher's face,,,mmmm..i think the ban on rifs has made the guy who sells the real deal very happy because instead of using a fake people who want to use guns now have to buy the real thing at probably the same price and if they pull the trigger somone dies rather than getting a few bb's in the face..

far as im aware , top venting is uk leagal, barrel venting is euro spec.

had a browning GD8 and a 1911 .45 blank pistols that barrel vented. (brought home on leave from germany)
use to use CS blanks as well

i didnt know at the time, gun laws were different, i thought all euro countrys had same law

when i applyed for gun licence i found they were prohibeted , and i handed them in on an gun amnesty (well fired , .45 was worn out  , and no ammo left of course  )

then got the "real steel" guns on a ticket, 3 years later, GUN BAN, hand em in AGAIN :slap:

the law as it stands makes no point of where a blank firering replica should vent. It is more to do with ease of conversion to fire any projectile which include offensive gas and pyrotechnic cartridges. many of the euro spec BF hand guns have a threaded barrel to support a discharge cup for such items. Whilst not to the letter illegal, the guide lines for the agents of the crown tend towards these being suspect and their ability to be coverted[ie; break the law] is high. This type will get you into a heap of trouble, avoid front venting hand guns.
Scratch built sub-machine guns can be made with a certain barrel which will meet current Home Office specs. Most opt for the cheaper and easier top vent. Personally I dislike top venting for safety, practical and aesthetic reasons. It's not normal for any weapon to vent or discharge from the top of the receiver. We are used to the end of the barrel as the dangerous bit, it is ingrained.
If a Sten is made to top vent then it is very hard to find a place for the thumb and the fingers to sit. The trouble is usually that either the thumb is too close to the vent or the fingers are too close to the ejection port/bolt.
When filmed or photo graphed a top venter looks, well, crap. No two ways about it, the flasha nd the gas going out the top does not look good. thats even before the concussion is vectored in. Top venters hurt your ears, may hurt your fingers and certainly hurt my eyes. Spend a little bit more and get a good submachine gun, go FV, it makes perfect sense.

Poacher, you are quite right, top venters are very iffy, been caught out myself, not with my own Mp, but with some crazy geezer firing below me,...face full of hell ! ...top venting users need to be extra careful who is around them !

...Just out of Interest,...my Gas Mg had to return to the Proof House, and specific modifications incorporated into it's design, to make it UK Legal,..although front venting, ... the barrel is specific to the design,...the original barrel and guts, totally removed to take the gas firing components,...the new barrel has welded pins and steel gauze, to stop any potential projectiles from being pushed down the barrel.A new De-act cert was issued, for the original gun carcase and modifications, indicating gas powered, non gun.

Also I was field testing my new gas Mp40 and K98,...Fook! they are loud. The Mp is too loud, it is now undergoing volume modifications. The k98 is just like the booming 7.92 blank....should both be ready for mid season.Ahhh..no more weapon hire or blank rounds to buy. Endless gas firing ammo for all three weapons at about £100 for the full season,...bargain ! :D

Speaking to our Groups, Tech Head,....because the new Stgw44 is manufactured as a non gun, he did explain in his Geek way, of it's potential to be legal,..although I can not elaborate, just in case I get it wrong......He said the main problem initially ,will be importing them into the U.K.

If it happens..then Great!..my money is waiting,...in the mean time I'll leave others with the headache of attempting to sort it out.

Rock On Airsoft...Eh ! :D
