Bought a cheap camo cap from SueSue ages ago, and wanted to jazz it up a bit - yes, I know camo caps arn't supposed to have insignia on them, however ...........
Got an image onto the PC, enhanced/reversed it, printed it onto t-shirt transfer film, and then ironed onto a spare piece of white cloth.
Edged were glued over and then patch was glued onto cap (may yet sew around edges if I keep it on there)
From 6ft or so, the patch blends into the camo and only the totenkopf and eagle (adler ?) are visible; Question is, whilst it only cost a whooping 50p or so to do, does it look too cheap .......... ??

I would say the eagle looks fine, but the skull looks a tad cheap, although saying that, at 50p a throw, i would make my own. Save paying through the nose.

I tried this method for a chest eagle for my jump smock a while ago, it looked damn good ....until I washed the bugger 
I must say, I like the concept of home made items.
I can imagin gents back in the day having improvised in the field, ok, not to that extent perhaps, but still in keeping with that ethos.
If you managed to do them on Black material I may consider having one or two.

have you seen the genuine US jump suits with drawn and painted on eagles? needs must ...... a few german units at the end of the war had hand stitched insignia. it looks good mate, we are airsoft, not re-enactors.

Had to do these on white material as the transfer sheets I had were the older 'clear' type; tried it on silver cloth but the camo wasn't opaque enough to show up.
It's now possible to buy transfer sheets for use on dark/black t-shirts, so assumedly the colours come out more dense (not sure how white would work ?? ) - I may have to buy some in and have a play ...........

hello, not one of the W-ss camouflage M/41 caps has peek stitching in the Micheal D Beaver book on SS camouflage, and for a short time, both green and 'brown' (more gold looking) insignia was worn on the caps, if you are into SS camou, that books is the one to buy, damn expensive though.
