The boots from Epic Militaria where I got mine from only go up to 11. 
I believe that there are biker boots that are based on the jackboot design - can't remember who, might be Harley so probably uber expensive.
I struggled with gaitors as well - thick socks and comfy padded high Magnums made it very nearly impossible.
Seg wears hobnails for airsofting at times ( well he did at the Bulge) as well as being very skiddy made his feet very cold apparently .
i have gone for an all oakleaf out fit it is a very good camo i find the wool abit too warm to go running about in especially the summer. the germans apperently reduced casualties by 30 percent. all my leather was bought at war and peace show and on ebay as for boots keep looking on ebay i found east german jackboots look for east german NVA DDR . also http://www.Gowenmilitaria.com in the usa sell the full east german kit inc boots! but they are quite pricey.
