Well you could save a packet by buying the clothing from Spearhead, for starters. It's just as good as SoF.

I agree with Herr Steiner. That lot is pretty much on my list but it's helpful to see it all laid out like that. 90% of it can be sourced much more cheaply than SOF. I'm building my loadout up slowly over the next couple of months using people like Spearhead and SueSue66.

The only bits I am currently struggling to source at decent prices are an M31 waterbottle and a gasmask canister. The rest I have found and am just getting funds together to get it a few bits at a time in order to hide it from the wife!

I wouldn't bother linking to Arnies or ASCUK to be honest, we don't want to attract the wrong sort. If people really want to be a part of it, they will register on here and do it that way.

I can't think of a single supplier that has *all* the "correct" equipment. Not SOF, Spearhead, Richard Underwood, Epic Militaria or Militaria-net....

It's a case of mixing and matching from lots of different suppliers, both for the sake of accuracy, and for the wellbeing of your credit card

Yup Steiner's right

Here's a rough Spearhead (Barry Linden) comparison, plus a few other items thrown in from Epic Militaria, and baring in mind that you build up to this, and we have spare stuff available for loan at no cost anyway. I think this is what you would need as a building block

Aint heard of him, Grenadier Baron. maybe worth checking out tho' I got mine from ebay Germany, plus a whole pile of other original stuff, try typing in "wehrmacht" on the ebay Germany site and you'll be surprised how much original ww2 junk turns up, everything and anything from original boots and helmets to uniforms and equipment

I deal with SOF quite regularly, I dont mind paying a bit over the odds if Im going to get top notch service and delivery times. I also like dealing with SOF because I know what to expect. Their accuracy Is prety spot on. I find underwood, is a bit cheeper but not as good service.

Funny you should mention Underwoods service. I bought a shirt off him last year an it turned up 4 weeks after I ordered it. With an SOF label in it!

I guess no supplier is perfect. However, for clothing I don't think Spearhead can be beaten on the price / quality combination.

SoF have generally been very good, but I spent

Is this list an essential list or is it slightly variable for eg I have a full oakleaf A camo tunic see pics on forum ) which i know wasnt standard issue but many NCO's etc had them made etc etc blah blah (expalined and discussed to death elsewhere on the forum). I would love to join if this is mainly for the fun of airsofting but not if it going to be as anal as some of the re-enacting sites. (apologies to all re-enactors present!) I have most of the kit, buut i love my oak A and would love to be part of a waffen ss team that went around shooting the**** out of black hawk down impressions on airsoft days!

Too right. I am creamed off with D*** Heads wearing delta force gear with XYZ fancy gun with more lights than blackpool promanade. who spray evrything that moves and, more often than not, dont take their hits.

If this aplies to anyone and I'v offended, sort it out.

I suspect your frustration is more with dodgy airsofters than people wearing delta kit.
As Kermit says , avoid open days and stick with quality rather than quantity .

Been there, seen that, done that , thought I'd become part of setting up games I'd like to play ....ah welcome to CiA !

You are probably right mate but it seems that most of them are kids with too much money doing US impressions.

When i first got into airsoft i considered an M-16 variant for like 5 minutes until i saw all the 'clone warriors' wearing the same US kit/accesories on there on AEG's or trying to out do each other with the latest bit of kit - yawn

Neil, there's a whole pile of variatiions for ss troops as everyone knows, and an oak A smock, which is what you have anyway would be fine with accoutrements and helmet cover, if people are up for this, and I think there's about seven or eight so far, which is great, as far as I'm conserned. However, I do think we should try and maintain a semblence of uniformity, as shown in the pics I posted, ie; an oak A smock, helmet cover, keilhosen, ankle boots and gaiters. All we need is a couple more guys and we'll have a full section, with mg team, riflemen and NCO's. This will be pretty damn immpressive as it is for the very first event, give this a year, a few more events and a little more exposure, in terms of various media coverage and you could end up with a whole platoon of three sections and a couple of light vehicles, who knows!

First off, the important thing is to get names down on a solid list for this. Then, everyone lists what they already have. Work on a "definitive" kit list over time, and make sure everyone is happy with what is proposed.

I've been a member of two teams now. One which broke down due to politics, the other due to disinterest because of horrendous kit requirements. I don't want to see this go the same way.

And above all.............have FUN :)
