Ok Im looking to fill out bread bag & A frame with some personal equipment that a landser may have carried with him. At this stage Im not looking at paperwork items, Ill save that for a future project. Looking for both authenticity and practicallity for events such as Foxely.
Here is my list so far:
A Frame:
1.Mess tin containing Hexi stove, erzatz coffee bag, matches

Hand towel
Soap in bakelite box
Sewing Kit
Wash roll

4.Breadbag containing:

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Good luck getting all that in the A frame bag.
Interesting thread on some views about lugging excess 'personal items'.

I think the Erste Zug has an article that explains the limited space of the a-frame bag was specifically to stop soldiers carrying everything plus the kitchen sink.
Good fun collecting it all though.

It's worth noting that this item may be seized when it enters the UK. Any folding knife that can be opened with a flick of the wrist (and believe me, they put some serious effort into this!) will be classified as a "gravity knife", and destroyed by UKBA.
For more information, have a look at the British Blades forum.

Now we're a country we're run by a..........
You certainly cant do the flick of the wrist open with the K55K Kat.
I think it will be the locking aspect and blade length that will cause you trouble.
This version just fits into UK law;

3" blade, non-locking.
Either way I wouldn't want to import one these days.

I thought exactly the same with a Spyderco. I was proved wrong

Not good news.
I've had a K55K for some 10 years and the thing is still stiff to open.
I think I've been lucky.

K55K available in the UK from Ray Mears shop. Better news.
Or go for an Opinal folding knife. Sharp blades but quite brittle.
