I just got back from our second ww2 event (Carentan) and while I am high on ww2 I am trying to buy more german stuff. I would like to complete DAK loaodut, but I would prefer sand colour uniform rather then those olive DAK uniforms. I understand that was the colour of Luftwaffe uniforms but I was wondering if it's possible that some DAK Heer officers got that kind of colour (sand) instead of olive one? I know officers bought their own uniforms, so is it possible?

My armory: MG42, MP40, StG44, G43, M38A, P08, P38, Mauser C96, M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, Colt 1911, Webley Mark VI, Sten Mark II.

Well, anything is possible....

Our other Steiner has a lovely olive DAK uniform which has faded to almost a sand colour (but leaving nice green bits under the Y straps etc). No idea of the manufacturer though.

Cheers
Martin

Thx for your swift reply. So it is better just to go with olive as sand is unrealistic for Heer or go with brigade Ramcke and sand uniform.

It's entirely your choice - as you say, sand-colour is not Heer, it's Luftwaffe/FJ. Not sure how much use you'll get out of an officer's uniform at events - some organisers will not want a punter to turn up as an officer, as it implies you're in a position of authority for the event.

My olive uniform was from Ant-Z Militaria (also known as Chen) who no longer makes uniforms. I always recommend Gavin Militaria for uniforms now.

DAK loadout is not for events, just a little indulgence for myself. WW2 events in Croatia are usually Normandy and soon Battle of the Bulge. On official events I am either obergefreiter with MG42/StG44 or SS-Sturmmann. I have GD leutnant loaodut but since they spent most of the war on Ostfront it's not for events. I want DAK loadout for little games we have every weekend where I'll fight against people with modern loadouts and for photoshoots. We have lovely weather here in Dalmatia and HBT uniforms are enough for better part of the year (only thing I can expect in wool uniform on 100 °F is a heart attack.)
I buy Gavin Militaria uniforms for some time now and I am very happy with them. :good:
