Having never seen a pair in the flesh and with genuine and repro examples being stupidly expensive, can anyone tell me (no guesswork please!) if these boots http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Russian-Military- ... dZViewItem
would pass off as german? Or, if anyone can help me source more suitable boots for less than £100?

Thanks in advance.

Thats what I use , they are high enough and pretty close . if you email him he has most sizes in stock .
bitch to get on and off (although hilarious to those people watching me swear and fall over) but comfy- I wore mine all day at DDay and found them fine .

Anyone know any place to get cheap jackboots?

I have a pair of post-war soft leather lined (officers) ones somewhere, with horseshoes and everything. How gutted am I that I can't find them?!

What size, Kav? Suesue66 on ebay regularly has them in small sizes - i.e. 8-11.

You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier

No offence intended, old chap - but anything below 12 is small! :)

Note to the wise, American shoe sizes vary from UK sizes. 1940s sizing differs from 2008 ;) they also had a narrower fitting  Not a dig but a pointer to anyone else that considers either original footwear or that from the states.

Shame they don't fit, hope you manage to find a new owner for them

I'm quite tempted. Only problem is, I'd prefer to try them on first at that size.
