My bro spotted this original picture over on the GD Recon Reenactors forums [link]http://www.hostingphpbb.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1777&start=30&mforum=gdr[/link]

Very similar to the grenade "waterwings" pouches but to me they look like they carrying 4x 1Kg demolitions charges. They use the same closures as the issued Pioneer pouches and backpack. I wonder if it's an issue item or field made?? :? Going by his waffenfarbe, the soldat is NOT a pioneer either!

Anyone know any more??

I take it no one does repros? I've certainly not been able to find any, yet, at least. Seeing as i've got an MG-13 and all that. :D

Ask Richard Underwood - if he can't get any, I doubt anyone can.

Seen quite a few for sale at militaria fairs - also seen the magazines and ammo boxes quite regularly as well.

Yeah, the mags, and mag boxes are fairly widespread and cheap, but i'm yet to see a set of pouches for sub £200, hence the interest in a repro set.

Saw two sets of them at Farnham Militaria Fair last time I went. Circa 150 quid IIRC.

Genossen,
The MG13 was an early War Weapon System, a stand in for the MG 34 till enough were available, later they were sold off to Portugal.
