You would not beleive what a hassle it was to do.
Had to unstitch the cockade take apart a spare shoulder strap, make a triangle of the black wool, stick the piping underneath stitch the whole thing to the cap then machine the cockade back on.

Try putting a metal krim shield on half way up a sleeve.
I had to hand sew on my old style field service cap insignia too..., took a while.
