Yes, I had a bit of a guessing game with the album of the telephone engineer (whatever a telephone engineer is called in the German army) - he certainly saw a good chunk of the war, some action too...

One of the albums has a pic of a CV for "Heinz Bayer Inf -Reg 21" in german for anyone good at translating. Pictures provide a great snapshot of everyday life in the Wehrmacht/Luftwaffe Flak crew/German Navy etc too! Great discovery there Helga.

On closer inspection the very first album does have text with some of the pictures (in German and Russian). Trouble is apart from the odd date they just raise more questions with annotations like: "marching to destiny" and "negro soldiers" - WHO? WHERE? WHEN???
