Can we be in both groups?

We originally volunteered for Webby's first venture.

So far if the scenario has allowed it we've alternated between British and American and intend to continue to do so. However, it means that every other game one group will have to do without Anne's sterling support and simultaneously breathe a sigh of relief that I won't be dragging them down.

We can do Airborne or infantry, both unbadged.

I have no problem with people being in either group, the only commitment we may ask in PBI is that if we do look int PLI there will a yearly charge to be covered (at cost)

We dont mind one bit if people want to be in both PBI and Doughboys. I doubt we'll be going to military shows or re-enactment events so hence pli and the yearly cost wont come into play with us

Oo just spotted this thread.

I'd be interested (seeing as Ruskie games are still a little way off).

However Im mostly set up for Ranger loadout. The reason I picked Rangers is mostly one of plausiblity.

    * Its one of the few outfits that was in both theatres of the war.

    * Its one of the few outfits that was present all the way through.

    * Its elite enough to have few members and not hoards of people.

    * Plus its not something everyone does (most new WWII peeps wanna do Band of Brothers copies).
    [/list:u:34wwkirj]

Also re: Hurtgen, 2nd Ranger Battalion was there :) (Hill 400)

At a push I could do airborne but its far cheaper to do M43s/tanker jackets than an M42 suit (admittedly its only £30 - 40 difference but dammit Im tight! :D )

    No longer involved in airsoft.

A Rangers' loadout isn't a problem Diggah, an Airborne and Infantry are the ideal if people can/want only to do one that's fine. :D

I've posted a new "official" thread as the feeler one Rhys posted has met such a positive response. More info will be released over the next few days.

To be fair, a lot of airsoft yank players want to do Rangers, too - hence I picked 29thID. It'll be good to have a fellow ground-pounder, all these airborne guys tear my sack...

Yeah I thought about the 29th but they were only present in Normandy, France, the Siegfried Line and Aachen in Germany. A bit too limiting....

or am I heading down the stitch counter route ... ;)

No longer involved in airsoft.

So you mean all of the Western European Campaign then Diggah! hehehe

Think we were thinking of going for kit setup which was good to play in too, rangers and airborne tend to carry the world and his wife on their backs, not a very practical skirmishing getup

As previously mentioned, the Big Red 1 is a good group to represent, lots of action during the yanks envolvement (plus I dont have to purchase any new patches  ).
I've also got a 3rd Armoured Infantry kit (same as BR1, but a tankers jacket).
As for Airborne, personally I prefer the 82nd, as most folks wanna go the band of brothers route.

I'm also glad it's ok to be in more than one group :)

I have posted on the weapons and kit list every item which you could get for the infantry loadout - not necessarily what you should get as most of it is re-enactor grade geardoness! hehe

Then Rhys, Webby please count me in fellas, I'm already fully geared up for yank loadouts thru my re-enactment stuff, I've got M41 and M43 rig, all Big Red One, but badges can come off quicker than they go on....
