Tom they are very very good indeed and excellent value.

Early US Greatcoats had the brass coloured buttons, later ones had the green plastic ones-both had the US Eagle on them etc and werent plain.

The easiest way to get an authentic look is to scan Ebay for some of the brass/gold coloured tunic buttons and use them.A bit smaller than the greatcoat buttons but still look good and better than plain ones

Not really, I've never found an army that didn't recycle kit, can't see the US being any different. It is more than likely that soldiers didn't hand in decent kit, as getting new stuff can be difficult. Bloody QM's

Wow,are you being that accurate

To be honest not 100% sure but you could always paint the gold/brass ones green as they are easier to find than green ones.

To be honest i would have thought that even the gold ones would be better than plain green ones??

I'd have also thought that since the old ones were around before the new ones then there would potentially be some old ones left in use at the Ardennes...

Sold my size 18 French Greatcoat which was dated 1963 and had bright brass buttons. Was very nice but a greenish shade more like Greek Bds.

Have just bought another because the size 18 was way too big.New one is a size 14 dated 1953 and fits better but sleeves are a little short :( :( .Unlike the other one this one has OD painted buttons and the colour and feel or material is almost identical to my US one :D :D :D :D :D

@ZMarre: Good start for your kit mate, it's just a case of customising it to your specific wants and needs now really. You've got all the basics, it's the extras that you festoon your kit in that make the difference...mine weighs about 12st all together haha.
Other than that good stuff, glad to see another Airborne, keep it up :good:

@mitranoITA: Excellent range of kit mate, your AB loadout looks really good and so does the Ranger one...we could do with some more BAR's haha.
Coupel of questions, firstly why is your face blanked on the AB one's and secondly...the name tag on your M1942 jumpsuit jacket, is that accurate, I was thinking about doing that myself?
