HI Guys
Some of you may recall that I found a genuine Higgins boat in Nottingham
Well I tracked down the owners and they seem more than happy to let us use it for a shoot.
I basically want volunteers with full *accurate* us assault infantry loadouts, ala SPR.
Would be great if you could badge up as either 29th div or 1st div (to be decided when we work out what the majority have.)
If you're interested (it will be a Sunday soon , date TBC in Nottingham) please say so here.

Count me in.
I can be the German on the other side of the bay/"trent" with the MG-42
I'm in!

count me in

Sounds good to me, only thing we wont have is the boyancy aid belts, other than that should be quite realistic!

Should be fine to do it..I have everything bar the boyancy aid belt
Gadge maybe you should stick up a list of items for an acceptable D-day Inf Impression.
I also have an assault vest that i can use for some variety
EDIT*
Also is this boat sitting in a field (like the one on milweb) or is it going to be on the water? Just might look weird us sitting in a boat surrounded by tree's, and fields.
It's moored in a marina

ahhh sweet. Yeah i should be good date depending.
Basically this isn't a shoot for AI its a proper living history type shoot so everyone has to be as authentic as possible.
The boat:

The look i need:

Whats the images going to be used for?
Boat looks good...Only issue is i dont have wool trousers..Are HBT's fine? As i dont protray 29th or 1st I've not needed them
All in wool/mustards and m38/m41 parsons type jackets please.
Prob going to be for either 'the armourer', 'wwii re-enacting magazine' or 'raider'. Hence have to be a lot more accurate.
Uniformity is the key. Once i've got a full list of whose up for it we'll decide on 1st or 29th but everyone will either have to be badged up as those or completley unbadged.
Its a once in a lifetime opportunity to use a very rare boat so im afraid its no compromises, its done right or not at all.
I may well see if I can ask SOF to loan bouyancy aids in return for the shots.

Its what an M41 is also known as
Anorak time. For info only.
What was usually called the Parson and the M41 are not quite the same jacket. VERY similar but the details differ.
Button down pocket flaps and no epaulets on the earlier Parson and the collar and waist band differ. The Parson is often called the M38 by some collectors.
Super hard to spot which is which in photos.
Not saying the M41 was never referred to as a Parson, just that there are two styles of field jacket.
ATF do a repro of the Parson if you must, I dont think they were that common in Europe.

Either will be fine.

I dont believe SOF do the life belts
Then i'll find a supplier that does then

The repro lifebelts are quite fragile, It took me 3 go's to get one that wasn't broke from WPG.
I can bring mine down to Victory if you want to borrow it Gadge?
