Yes please mate.
Do you know anyone in the UK who makes them?
Basically I coudl do with loaning a couple so that at least the guys in front of shot are wearing them

i dont, the only repros I have seen are the WPG. Originals are not exactly rare but are often damaged, the loops on the fastenings are a weak spot. Pop a post on WWii I'm sure the generous yanks will pile you up with life belts and assault gas mask bags.
or not

Most of the Doughboys will be patched up as the Big Red One for Alsos Gadge, might I suggest going for that? Would be better to keep it as one of the two and not both, as the 29thID and 1stID were on different sectors of Omaha.

I'll go with whatever the majority on the day have.
There will be plenty of notice and time to swap over.
Like I say its a once in a lifetime oppo really (im going to see if i can persuade them to get it going as well) and really worth unpicking and re-sewing a badge for.
Unless you've been a div and glued them on... ![]()

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Well no of course not! Wouldnt want to ruin a good jacket!

Im going to have to pull out. I cant really justify spending cash on a pair of wool trousers that im not going to wear again. Plus badges that i wont use. If the requirements were'nt so tight then id be happy to attend. But its just the nature of the shoot
Mustards are a core part of the infantry impression matt! You'd have them under the HBTs you're wearing ![]()

Well If someone can find me a cheapish pair of wool trousers...and possibly lend me a badge then i'll do it
I'd love to come along for this and help you out but I've got no way of getting down there.(
)

As it happens I am building a us inf kit at the moment, so depending on date I may be ok for it as still got plenty of kit to get.
Well..I've found a responable pair of wools [EDIT *Bought them now]. So looks like im back in. But if its fine, i wont badge up, i'll just remove rangers patch. Or i can cover it up with the Gas brassard.
Any news on a date?
Is there any update on this photoshoot Gadge?
I've got to assemble a team and speak to the owners firstmate, and the local press etc.
Dont expect anything within the next two months.
Cool about being 'unbadged' or covered but remember you'll need a helmet devoid of ranger markings too if you can borrow one.
I dont want to be messing about trying to make sure inappropriate stuff is out of shot, its better if its simply not there at all.
Sorry if this sound s all a bit harsh but its a living history shot im going to be able to do *once* and I need to make sure a minimum of things can go wrong and i dont want to be photoshopping things out at a later date.
Its also going to take some time for me to loan at least three life vests so the guys in the foreground can be wearing them

Ah a couple of months. In which case we three should be able to help here date depending.

Have you tried Angels the costumiers?
[link]http://www.angels.uk.com/[/link]
They supplied all the uniforms for BoB and the Omaha Beach scenes of SPR that were shot in Ireland. I bet they've got a load of them tucked away in their warehouse in Norf Laanden. It'll cost £££ to rent them at rate card (and I'm guessing you have very little budget for this) but a bit of charm never does any harm with the Luvvies ![]()
Cool, cheers for that.
We're currently looking into having some repros madeup.

Helmet is empty of any markings anyway. As i haven't got round to stenciling it up. But yeah..I'll just cover the ranger patch with my gas brassard
You never came to collect the one I brought to Cosby?

That's ok, gave me something to moan about to C-W.
Who didn't offer to take it for you actually. Too busy doing his Himmler look-a-like?
