Now that my CiA membership application has gone off I'm thinking of joining AFRA - mainly for the VCRA defence, but its seems a good package too. Does anyone have a list of retailers who will accept AFRA - I don't want to go down this route and find I still need UKARA registration too. Plus is it only any good for WW2 weapons, or can the 'living history' bit work for modern kit (not that I need any at the moment)?

Action Hobbys certainly do - I'll sort a list ASAP (but everyone is working hard on the Victory Show so it might be next week before I can give you a definitive list...
There is no distinction in the legislation on period - if it looks like a gun it's a RIF. If you have a defence then you can be sold a RIF.
Cheers CW. I'm after a 1911 before In The Pocket, so I may get someone to order one on my behalf. Probably go for a WE after using Guy's on Sat night.
