Like so many people now days money is a bit tight so unfortunately had to put my beloved PPSH up for sale. Now though only a week later and win on the football at the bookies the other night I am feeling very annoyed that I had to let it go.. So heres the question what the prized item that either you regret parting with or the other way the one that the piggy bank is getting filled for?

I try to avoid selling stuff if at all possible, however a few which spring to mind...

All my original 'Tank Battles in Miniatures' books and Charles Grants 'Battle'. I spent some decades buying all these back, for rather more than they cost in the first place.

My original 1974 White Box D&D plus supplements. I must have been mad, what was I thinking.

Original black box Traveller, plus (a lot of) supplements. Ditto.

Various board games, most notably Victory Games 'Vietnam', West End Games 'Tank Leader' and SPIs 'Sniper'.

However I lent my original Seditionaries 'God Save the Queen' bondage shirt to someone and never got it back. That really was f**king stupid.

Not that I bear a grudge or anything :)

Cheers
Martin

I painted the entire Austro-Hungarian Army in 6mm for Aspern Essling and Wagram; thousands of figures. I sold it for a lot of money, largely because it was sitting collecting dust and I was wanting to move on to WW2/Burma.

Two weeks after I sold it, a bloke turned up at the club with a mahoosive 6mm French Napoleonic Army.

That, and I just don't have the same amount of time to paint as I used to.

Regrets, Same as cjw957, sold a king arms M1A1 never used and must say it was one of the nicest AEG's I ever held. But wasn't likely to use it as changed my mind about getting a US loadout.
Non WW2, selling my Swedish M90 camo loadout. But needed the money to fund my FJ uniform.
Non airsoft, Selling all my star wars figures and ships when I was a young to buy some white Z-rims for my Mongoose BMX :)
As for filling the piggy bank, saving for a British WW2 basic infantry loadout. :good:

My Flames of War Italian and Polish armies. They were both uniquely characterful and 'mine'.

I sold two Tanaka revolvers. Yes I know, a moment of madness. I pestered one of the guys to the point that he sold it back to me a year or so later. (Thanks Badger)

None airsoft. Twenty years ago I sold my entire collection of JT Edson western novels and Edgar Rice Burroughs novels. Regret to this day!

8 Skaven.

Some of the first models I painted in the early 90s and I always regretted selling.

Since then I made a rule that I would never sell a painted model...

This I have kept to until very recently when I realised I had just far too many and they no-longer meant as much as those original 8 Skaven did. Since early December I've been selling off most of my old 40K stuff.

Don't do it!

You just know you'll want them in a year or so. :)

Sorry to sound like a hippy but....

I dont regret selling any possessions, I have had some truly beautifull wargame armies, most gone now. This fad, that fad, must have possesions become next years forgotten junk. Fast cars, sporty cars, status symbols?

At the end of the day all these things are just a passing fancy with no true importance. Its taken me many years to realise health and happiness for yourself and your loved ones are all thats important.

back to my cave

Not 40K... not with the way GW have gone with prices. I'd have had to buy new if I wanted to start with it again. Nobody at the club plays or has any desire to start playing again. In fact pretty much all of us have been selling off old stuff.

LOL, pretty much exactly what I was going to post (except that bit about wargame armies   ). What's gone is gone, it is right now and what is to come that matters.

Yeah, same here really as regards 40k. Our club's ditching it like a ton of cholera infected bricks.

I always regret it every time I sell models.. I've been so tempted to flog my golden demon finalists with their pins and certificates when I need cash but I always resist, they all mean too much to me. It's easier to paint on commission instead.

Airsoft wise I think I've only ever sold two guns and both to fund a new one so it's not too much of a kick in the gut (mock project gun I never did anything with and my first gun, AK)

I sold a load of vinyl that I immediately regretted including Feeder's first release from 1995...worth a fortune and I think I got 25 quid for it.

Possibly my 1982 Gibson Les Paul Custom in black. Whatever. The past is gone.

I think it is quite funny that the things we regret are mainly related to other hobbies. I don't regret a single bit of airsoft stuff Ive sold, I'm usually glad someone is willing to take it off my hands!

Although as Steiner says, the past is gone, and it is best not to dwell on things which might have been.

Cheers
