Charly, may I educate you to a small nuance of the good people of the UK government? They would be unable to find their own arse with the use of both hands, a map and a collection of aides to give them directions, better still they would be unable to formulate their own opinion as to how they came to find it.

They are lead in their policy and law making by misguided fools, charletons trying to get whatever freebees they can, and the sensationalist media. It is my firm belief that the moment that somebody is seriously injured by a book falling on them they will be banned as A knee jerk reaction to court public favour.

I like things that go bang, during the easter break I bought 100 of those egg grenades and I now only have 27 left. Im suprised that you cant have anything like that, I thought you would be able to have bigger/better pyro because your firearms arnt restricted nearly half as much.

During the many frequent re-enactment battles you can hire virtually any firearm you desire, but the cost soon go's up as it is $120 to hire a Bren gun for two days with 7.62mm Blank rounds being $30 per 100. You can actually hire one with very cursory background checks but you need to provide some form of recognised ID that will be cept safe as a kind of deposit until you return the gun.

Nope people are kinda tight on explosives especialy after 9/11. You can hire people that do special effects to do stuff. Fireworks big and small are somewhat regulated by state and sites often don't allow anything that goes bang because they are afraid some kid will have one go off in his hand and they will get sued. Meanwhile we are relegated to shite grenades that blow up because of baking soda and vinigar mixing or the ones that are gas and only blow bb's one direction. We do imploy a lovely air powered mortar that shoots tennisballs about 100-200 yards.

As far as 911 is concerned 1) I thought they used planes, 2) Britain has had its own terrorist problem for years, and you can still walk into a supermarket between november and january and buy enough fireworks to blow up the houses of parliment(Possibly the first recorded UK Terrorist action?)
As for getting sued, it is a similar problem over here, but most sites have an age restriction on who can use pyro, and every site likes to teach you how to use the pyro you buy off them.

i could , due to my army training, and just useing a bit of common sense , make something big enough to flatten a house. with a large range of trigger options

the thing is ,to even talk about doing such an act , telling how to do it and listing such a recipe is illegal.

i NEVER alter pyro in any way.

you can increase power without adding more powders or altering a recipie of a pyro by simple physics. (but im not saying how, as i dont know the legality of saying how)

basicly, anyone can make an explosive, its easy using household items.

my advice is buy pyro from a home office registered supplyer, AND USE IT LIKE ITS MADE, DONT ALTER IT.

the average living room contains about 50 - 100 lethal weapons as well

It's not the sites, its the Law. As pyrotechnics come under fireworks legislation, the age at which they can be bought is 18.

Don't you have BFGs (Blank Firing Grenades) over there? They're reusable, fire 9mm blanks and operate just like a real grenade.

They're pretty safe as long as you don't get one bouncing off your head as they're rather big and heavy. (They should only be rolled...)

Mk 5's are designed with the powder in just the top of them. That way, if they do go off - as happened to you - they don't blow your hand off. If your hand was around the top of it when it happened, then it would be a slightly less happy ending to the story

Wasnt their a rumor going round a few years ago that A veteran airsofter, and a doctor to boot had some pyro land at his feet and pict it up to through back. Apparently it went off in his hand and he lost it.

the cardborad tube, is a safty device, you could even put a mk 5 without tube on your open hand, and not loose it, it would hurt, but wouldnt blow bits off.

When you hold a mk 5 without tube in a closed fist YOU WILL LOOSE FINGERS.

most explosives have their power doubled/trebled when its compacted in a tight space

open hand allows the gas/blast to escape, closed hand, restricts expansion, so something has to give, (usually the fingers)
