I 'happened upon' this hat and am wondering when/where/what/who,etc. Anyone know?
You can't see it very well but above the pink trim is a cloth german eagle.
Any info would be appreciated.
Cheers,

Looks like a DAK cap to me. Hard to tell if its repro or not. Where did you find it?
My mate found it at work(work on a tip) with some british dress uniforms(a couple of number 2 jackets and some navy outfit). Wasn't sure about it because the peak seems a bit wide(unles that's what they're like). Pretty sure the brit gear is post war but was badged colonel with the kings crown so can't be that much after the war.

The peak on the tropical cap is much wider than an M43. Pretty good knick if it is original.
there's a fair few wear marks and small holes, but it's not bad(well, not good if it's repro). The stuff it was found with makes me wonder though. The inside is lined with a red fabric if that means anything???

Well the red lining confirms it is a tropical cap. It might be worth sticking some pics up on warrelics or wehrmacht awards & someone might be able to tell its origins.

Be aware that for every genuine expert on forums like Wehrmacht Awards there are 5 wannabees. If someone simply declares "FAKE. Value 5 euros" then they need to come up with a persuasive reason why that is.
