You'll be fine, mate. Get stuck in with the other W-SS types, and enjoy yourself. Going as Brit this time, I probably won't have the opportunity to find out who you are until the evening social. (If you can stick a big flag saying "newbie" on your helmet, that will help for ID purposes.

Hi Alf - don't worry about arriving on your own, everyone has to attend their first game at somepoint and you'll be made to feel very welcome by all! As Steiner says, stick with your allies and your have lots to chat about at the social. I'll see you on the day!
Matt
You could also seek out Josh (event organiser / guv'nor) when you first arrive to sign in and ask him to put you with an SS unit.
I've been to plenty of events on my own, it can be a bit daunting, but there is strong sense of comradeship in the WW2 airsoft community and you usually end up hooking up with groups of other people.
I'll also be going to Anzio, but like Steiner, British for this one. Traveling down in the morning but I'l be there Saturday evening.
If you want to get an idea of what actually goes on at a WW2 Airsoft game, as opposed to a re-enactment type event, there are few game videos on the website front page, although obviously they are only a partical picture.
Cheers
