Bit of a strange one this.

My girlfriend's family have invited me along to a ww2 re-enactment event based on the severn valley railway in late june. :D However... they want to dress up for it, and have asked whether i'll do the same.

Oh deary.

I'd jump at the chance, but i've just sold most of my kit. Since i don't have a use for it, i don't really want to invest in some gucci replicas, or do a half arsed attempt with botched modern kit.

1) What would be the easiest kit to throw together? I was guessing airborne - '49 trousers, gaiters, ammo boots (modern type?), belgian/replicators dennison, red beret and badge, scrim net, with an OG t shirt underneath. Oh and a 37 webbing belt to go over the smock. The rules are no weapons for the public, so that only makes things easier - so i won't bother with full webbing either.

2) Is there any chance that i could borrow some kit off somebody for the event please? I've got a fair bit of kit for sale here:

http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/php/phpBB2 ... .php?t=530

If anyone can lend me kit for the day, then i'll give you the lot in exchange :)

My sizes are:

6 foot 2 in height
34 waist
33 leg
Chest size in nato is.... 104 cm - 42 inch?
Size 10 boots

Not sure what gaiter size i'd be, but if someone could work that out for me, that'd be great!

Many thanks,
Ian

The Severn Valley Railway event can be quite stitch-county too.

We're almost exactly the same dimensions, I have US Airborne kit I could loan you if you're interested. I'm sure we could come to some sort of arrangment.

I'm going as a member of the public rather than on a display/battler, but in period dress, so hopefully that shouldn't be too bad. But that would be brilliant if you could please :)
