I have some ideas for anxillary toys not involving pyrotechnics......

Would there be a market for (reuseable)

Sonic Grenades?
Good simulators for FISH

Strobe Grenades?
Good on Night games - could be combined with Sonic too for Mental CQB FX

Resetable Trip "Flares"?
A very novel concept that may even be programmable..... and could incorporate strobes.... and sonics.....

and one or two other goodies I have in my fevered hollow head......

feedback please?

No tech details here. I wanna make them don't I?

There are already "sonic" grenades on the market, plus a "sonic" claymore. Frankly, I dont think they have much application in Airsoft. I think people prefer stuff that goes BANG - I know i do.

A strobe grenade would be an interesting idea to disorientate people, well, for modern Airsoft anyway, and there is precedent on this already as such an item is already manufactured and marketed for LE and Mil applications. But in a WW2 setting, again, some of Tony's "thermobaric" type grenades do the same thing (not to mention completely bugger your nightvision)

Stick to good old bangs and flashes, much more realistic. I also think more airsofters would prefer this, I know I do, same as Kermit.

Oh flang and bashes I can do..... in copious amounts and ever increasing smasherosity!!!!

But it seems some sites don't allow them for fire and safety reasons..

In some quarters they are not keen on you hoying bangs into rooms..... As you say - the TBGs are a bit tasty...... some don't like them - It's not everyone's taste. What about sites with noise restrictions?

I just have an idea that some doody toys might liven things up a wee bit.....

Besides not everyone knows how to set a pot flare up do they?

What would you like to see then?

PD, as a tanker type, please indulge me in a bit of a fantasy, what's your opinion on the feasability of converting an FV432 into a panzer IV. I know that someone has already converted an FV432 into a Stug III and the results are pretty fantastic, only difference I can see being, the number of road wheels being one less and the top return rollers, also minus one, which is covered by the protective armoured shielding anyway. Thats an idea spinning around in my fervered brain.

Not IV but a III certainly - You need to reposition the powerpack though....... and the driver is at the wrong side.....

Jon who built the StugIII is looking at building another superstructure to replicate a PzIII Problems however with said powerpack........ Heightwise.

Maybe if one found a donor vehicle and put in another engine/powerpack.... alternatively find an AMX13 and convert that into a Marder or similar....

Yeah - I'm on about electrical gizmos built into shockproof housings for lobbing into rooms and woods (Night game, lob a strobe grenade on a delay - when it goes off everyone looks like keystone cops!!!

and you can retrieve your grenade cos it's FLASHING!!!!!!
Perfect for the annual Epileptic Airsofter's Skirmish!

Thermobaric grenades are a loose powder device, they have a blinding flash and slightly lower noise rating but send out a decent concussion.....

As for the Sonic grenades think rape alarm...... chuck in a room on a 3 second delay and if the occupant doesn't clear - He/she /it is out...... Weoweoweoweoweooooo!!! Safer than bangs..... just as noisy - different noise!!!!

Got more ideas.... might not be applicable to "we WWIItypes" but might appeal to some of those nerdygeardos you describe elsewhere....
