This is a thread about things that we've changed our minds over. When you first started to attend WW2 games, what sort of things did you assure everyone that you would always / never do?
Add the time it took for you to change your mind (if you can remember)
I'll go first.
I will never give a toss about blanco (1 year)
I will never do Waffen SS (1 year)
I will never go to a game that doesn't allow AK47 lookalikes (2 months) - I remember getting REALLY arsey about this one... 
I will never get shot by a BB..... (.000001 seconds)
"I will not spend huge amounts of money on shit that I don't need" - 2 seconds.
"I will never play as a yank" - 3 years.
Proud to say that there a quite a few that I have stuck to though!
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
I'll never bother with entrenching tools (2 years)
I'll never do Brit because of the Dads Army/potato sack image (2 years)
I'll never bother with loadout specific footwear and buy Jackboots/Low boots/Ammo boots/Rough out boots, thinking "I'll just use a pair of black leather boots to do em all" (took me nearly 2.5 years to finally get all 4)
In 2.5 years airsofting I have proudly resisted Falschy/Brit Airborne/US Airborne. I am sure some film, photo or article will tip me over one day though.

Nothing, I have been racking my brain but there was only ever a couple really, and they were never affirmations... I still not not give a toss about Blanco and still will not 'do' SS. 
Everything else I left open.
Oh wait:
'I would always go to games and dress as anything required in order to do so' (3 Years. OK, 2 years before I re-defined 'every game' to not include ones I wasn't interested in, but 4 before it was 'what was there' that made the decision.)
i will not never wear full wools in this heat again! after two games at the local club i was down to just pants a t-shirt and webbing!
didnt think i'd ever want to do german and now i'm on the brink of selling my yank kit so that one didnt work out too well neither

never do brit - 3 years bought a sten and needed to impression to go with it 
I will probably never do Brit airborne - 6 months
I will never do Russian - 8 months
I will never do Yank - 12 months
I will never buy needless amounts of webbing/equipments/weapons/uniform/books/DVDs for specific games - 1 day
I will never do German - still can't see it happening
I will never NOT worry about blanco - still going strong on this one.
I have a small skewer hidden in the collar of my jumping jacket, and a razorblade in my gaiter, as well as my knife.
Still not done Yank yet. Closest I got was a CIA 'Advisor' at a 'Nam game. Still can't seem me doing it at ww2 events, just doesn't appeal.

i will never use a low power bolt action rifle as i'll be disadvantaged, 2 year's but Patton stalled really changed my mind big time,now i'll never use a high power one as a sniper!

Play as a german- 1 year
Play as an american- still going strong
spend more money on what is really a complet russian impression- a week
ill stick to my US ww2 kit, i cant afford german, ( 1game)
ill just buy a panzer uniform and pistol that should do (2 games)
whilst getting mullered by a tanaka k98 at battle of the bulge i said ,"tanaka rifles are just for lame asses who want to win at all costs" (after seeing the americans and brits cut down at huskey, went and bought 1, and i love it, in a sexual way)
ill never buy an m4 or minimi (bought 2 of each within the last month, and i still HATE the fooking things) 
ill never play modern airsoft again (did this very thing last week, and actually enjoyed myself)
