Finnish jackboots at Varusteleka

Ah yes, already ordered myself a pair to use for soviet impressions . I'll let you all know how they are when they turn up. Varusteleka do some really great deals on oddball stuff.

Always wanted some jack boots but not prepared to go £80.

What do people think about these for German??

Yeah Varusteleka are brilliant value, I got some Belgian brushstroke trousers (I kinda have a thing for brushstroke/lizard camo patterns), a Belgian web belt and a 3-cell AK mag pouch for about £25 posted. The trousers would be about £25 posted if I bought them from here, the rest of the kit would've probably made it £45-£50. Also very fast shipping, from their shop in Helsinki to London in 3 working days!

I'll be in Helsinki in two weeks...might have to see if they have a shop

Pretty easy to reach too by public transportation. Trainstation is walking distance away (by my standards) and bus stops are ~50m away from the shop door. They usually have someone on staff that speaks English as well.

They usually get some finnish (of course), german and eastern block stuff for super cheap, not so much for anything western allied . The shop is pretty well laid out and easy to navigate.

Goodyear welt means when they wear out you can get them easily replaced though

Few questions for you: How long was delivery? And is the sizing about right?

I ordered late on Monday (past packing late), got sent out Tuesday, arrived Thursday. Sizing seems good, being jackboots there's always a bit of windage (should sit comfortably without pinching the calf or toes) but I'm a 43 and I'd say the 43's they sent me are spot on.

Depends on how particular you are really, they're noticeably taller than wartime German jackboots and the shape of the toe is different, not bad stand-ins for the price though and are of good quality,welted soles nean that replacing them when they wear out shouldn't be a problem.
