Not sure if right or wrong but I wear a pistol belt, suspenders, water bottle, first aid pouch and pistol holster, pistol mag pouch and have a Thompson mag bag.
when I get my Garand later this year I will get a M1923 Garand belt but heh that's just me

And yes I do sew my div and rank badges on myself

Hope this helps

Cad

Seems a very awkward place to put the 5 cell pouches. My web kit is -
- Pistol belt
- webbing suspenders
- 2 large rigger pouches for 10x30rd M1A1 mags
- first aid pouch
- M1910 shovel in carrier
- canteen
- musette pack
- thompson mag bag (for grenades, gas, tools etc)
- a TL pattern torch on my right strap and a Mk2 grenade on the left
- 1911 shoulder holster with a 1911 double mag pouch on the strap at chest level.
Everything is where I can reach it except the musette but I usually just have my shelter half, dry gear and spare stuff in there anyway.

I sewed all my own insignia too, not too hard just takes a while.

It is rather odd. What would you keep in there?
1 five cell pouch was the norm, never seen a 3 cell in Europe.
Extra mags were held in a thompson mag bag or a GP bag.
Some guys didnt bother with the pouch, just using the bag.
There are way too many thompsons in re-enacting for accuracy.
The main reason is they are very often cheaper than a garand.

Do you sew it on your gear???

And to answer the other question....

I do all my own sewing, putting on patches/badges, modifying clothes/webbing or whatever. I find it rather relaxing, like polishing my boots.

One of my other hobbies is military modelling, so it is very similar, although you use rather more paint doing the wood stocks on 1:1 scale guns than model ones :)

Cheers

....I'm sure the US army sub machine gunner they equipped themselves a pistol belt with leather pistol holster...

Well there are certainly pics with M1923 belts / Thompsons. Not textbook, but hey it was war. Who knows who managed to acquire a Thompson in the field or got issued one for a specific task at hand. It was not all perfect back then, i think the average WW2 airsofter is better equipped then the average soldier of WW2 anyways.

IT IS DOESN'T MATTER AT ALL????

No. It does not matter at all... :P
