What do most people wear? Obviously you'd want to be as much in-keeping with your look as possible, but as far as I know there aren't many WW2 era goggles (with the exception of flying goggles and biking goggles I suppose?). I can't just wear safety glasses either, as I wear prescription glasses. So what is the best option?
Thanks.
1. Industrial safely glasses that are designed to go over specs (check out your DIY store - look for BS/Kite marks)
2. Army issue shooting specs that are able to take inserts that can be fitted with prescription lenses
3. Use standard shooting specs without your specs. Hide and wait for enemy to get close enough to see with poor your vision, then stab 'em.
Do most people use polycarbonate glasses? Only problem is they risk fogging up!
Oh, and by the way, option 3 sounds fun!
Yes, mostly polycarb - a good fog preventer will pay dividends although I never use a de-fogger and have very rarely misted up. Some use mesh goggles but these move further away from the invisibility ideal. I'm a spectacle wearer and am a bit envious of those that wear very discreet shooting glasses.
By the way, many airsoft sites have a full face mask rule for under 18's so you may have to resign yourself to specs under a mask.
if you wear a peaked cap and goggles, you get steam when your active.
with a helmet its not so bad.
the 5 quid B+Q jobs are more than up to the task, and when there scratched after a couple of events, bin em and get a new set

Ah... that is definitely a shame!
I use Army issue shooting glasses with prescription lens inserts. Specsavers made up the inserts.
Yes, they do fog up now and again but not enough to worry about. As Porta says, wearing a helmet helps somewhat with the airflow. They are reasonably discreet.
Never had much luck with ESS goggles with prescription lenses, almost permanent fog, just keep them as helmet decoration for my modern British Army loadout.

ESS ICE glasses are brill combined with their anti-fog cloths.
I might look at buying some ballistic glasses with lens inserts then. That is, if under 18's don't have to wear full face protection.
Thanks everyone.
I fog up no matter what. I've tried x200 goggles, Guarder glasses, cheap Wikes ones and all sorts in between, plus anti fog spray and none of it works. What secret am I missing?
I was quite amazed... I didn't fog up at all at Eagles and normally do...
ESS ICE glasses with Muck-Off Anti fog spray.
i usually start with guarder shooting glasses treated with fogteck wipes and contact lenses but always carry mesh goggles in my pocket as i can produce fog at a world class level.

you tried a super thin layer of baby shampoo? That tricks worked a treat for plenty of people I know
im with Dadio on this one, shooting glasses and a spare pair of mesh just encase. As a glasses wearer you cant go wrong with contacts (make sure your hands are clean or yourll be in a world of pain).
If you are thinking Contacts...no way, trust me. i thought i would never wear contacts until i had no choice because i didnot want to give up football (still playing at 42, just a hell of lot slower).
if you stick with them for a fortnight and always have a pair of glasses available just encase, before you know it you will be wondering what all the fuss was about. so get down the optisions and get sorted you wont regret it.
I've never used pukka anti-fog stuff on specs and don't fog up (used to in the old days withh ESS goggles, even with all the foam pulled out and the vents open) BUT before a game I wash them at the kitchen sink using pump dispenser soap solution, rinse under the tap and wipe dry with a kitchen towel - exactly as I do with my day to day specs. I wonder if this method is adding a magic anti-fog layer?
ESS glasses all the way. On the rare occassions that I've had fogging (usually in hot, damp weather), just moving about a bit clears them right up. The cloth that comes with them is excellent, as Headshot mentioned.
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
i think some people, myself included have a greater amount of facial perspiration and suffer more with fogging .i should probably mention that i only use contact lenses for airsoft,im not a vain man and use glasses on all other occasions.

Already tried contacts, lots of different types! Unfortunately due to my complex prescription I just don't get on with them!
