I have recently aquired a drum magazine carrier for my MG gunners impresion, for a 70+ year old piece of kit it is in remarkably good condion but very grimy. I woluld like to clean it up a bit but dont want to damage this piece of history, any advice as to how to go about it?

Autoglym upholstery cleaner? They are not cheap but seem to do a good job without knackering fabrics, but as always try it on an inconspicuous spot before going crazy with it.
