Been clearing through some draws at my grandparents this weekend and came across this photo of an SS Major. They haven't the faintest idea about who or when so I wonder if any of you lot can give me the identity of the soldier? It suppose it must be later than 1939 but there is no cuff title visible.
Anyway, it seemed appropriate so I snaffled it for my avatar!
Nice bit of photoshopping there methinks - still, its a feckin' nice pic, and very well 'shopped!
Obvious giveaway that its not period - have a look at the haircut. Way too long. Plus, something doesn't look *quite* right about the headgear - oh yes, the chin strap is EM not Officer.

Nope, its not an SS major, they never let anybody that ugly join, instead they used em to pull the field guns. 
Going to have words with your higher-ups Gliderrider - clearly you are not fit for the air drop at Arnhem with less than 20-20 vision. Still, you will be fine with catering duties well away from front lines.
