But..... I may be able to use this one as a template and machine a few from aluminium if anyone here is interested (lol!). Got a few commission pieces to sort out first like a GE M134 for a client in the US.

I have a Cyma M1A1, a 1928 receiver drawing, a milling machine and a block of aluminium. What I'm lacking is the confidence I can do a decent job of it.

New boots turned up. Lucky that he had a pair in my size - otherwise it would have been a 6 to 8 week wait! Quality is absolutely superb, and my worries about dropping 175 quid on a pair of boots have been assuaged by knowing that If I look after them, they'll last a bloody long time!

Behold the shiny newness...

Very nice boots.

My Russian M43 uniform just arrived from Hong Kong, excellent kit, although my wife says I still don't look like Jude Law in 'Enemy at the Gates'. Oh well, you can't have everything.

Arse. That's it, I'm giving in. Want, want, want.

Can you give an idea on sizing? I'm a size 9 and I can buy any size 9 shoe in the UK and it fits. Are they like for like with your normal size?

Those are 44's, basically UK 10's. Sizing is exactly what i'd expect. Slightly tight over the foot for me (but i have fat feet ), but given breaking in they'll loosen up a bit. a UK 9 would be a European size 43 IIRC.

As long as you don't smell like a WW2 Ruskie, I dont see what her problem with that is!

Some of the stuff I picked up this week -

WE colt 1911
My fieldwerks M3 knife finally has a scabbard!
M1928 Thompson with real wood kit and sling (it's off soaking in rust stain removers), note the weird sling mounts, they are original though.
M1A1 with SOF strap (looks Russian in colour)

I've seen that setup described as "Anglicised" - A setup used by British forces to make moving from slung (barrel down) to shooting from the hip easier.

Just ordered an M1928 upper receiver, barrel and compensator set, half price this weekend!

http://www.ima-usa.com/product_info.php ... ts_id/1461

A big step towards a more genuine 1928. Now for the woodwork...

Did you order the forward grip from them, too?
I got mine from there, and a complete butt from here:

When I placed my IMAUSA order, I ordered 2 vertical and 1 horizontal. They both fit the same grip mount (on the real steel at least), so I thought I'd give myself some choice.:)
Someone at the Chatham fair had pistol grips last time I was there (September). I asked, and he only had the pistol grips. I can't remember if they were M1A1 or M1928, though.

1930s Scho-Ka-Kola tin (maybe)

This is one of the so-called "hybrid" versions, that combines aspects of pre-war civilian cans and the first post-war versions. The can boffins can't decide what the production date is.

Yey another blummin' British camp bed!
This time another officers cot bed, in near pristine/mint condition, perfect canvas, with carry bag - £25

And also an original copy of; "1942, Military engineering, Volume IV, Part I: Demolitions", complete with two copies of all original Amendments tucked in the back, along with some un-used 'Army Form W.4012 B.'
I like things that go BOOM.
