Webby's just jealous you've got multiple manbags and felt the need for hessian over indulgance to try and gain credance in this bizarre bag fetish that is hitting CiA

You wont be saying that when you see how spectacular my MG pit looks when you arrive at the site :)

Cool 8) I've been sorting my eldest out with a victorian esq ensemble for a school trip tomorrow, but being the sad cow I am its a multi purposed ensemble  he has a nice wool german boys blazer (can you see where this is going) trousers to use as breeches (that will become long shorts for a later erm purpose) school shirt (wears them anyway) a flat cap I have (was in a charity shop for pennies and thought you never know it could be part of an airsoft ensemble) and some long socks (again erm useful for him at a later point in time  )

True victorian esq to 1930s style, I'm making my lil un a sailors outfit  kriegsmarine styled of course

Have to get a picture of your ensemble  is your lady friend joining you bustled up ?

yeah, she's got the dress already, but i've just bought her one of those huge underskirt hoop-things, it's about a four foot across at the base! God knows how she'll fit into the nightclub, but she wanted it!

i've spent far too much already, i've got a vintage tailcoat, waistcoat, antique fobwatch, cufflinks, the lot! which is all the more impressive as i've never owned or worn a suit before in my life and i've previously refused to on principle!

Finally after over a month of waiting my order from Russian Arsenal came through.

A nice padded Telogreika in my size (a rarity in itself), a pair of long staps for my boots and a rain coat/tent half (as seen in Enemy at the Gates).

Im not entirely sure how you wear the rain coat yet (on first glance its a large canvas sheet with a small hole, some strange re-enforcing, and toggles for the tent part I presume) so Im on the hunt for info :)

Actually I will say this about Russian Arsenal; they may be slow (ordered 16th Oct) but their stuff is top notch (and clean too :D)

Nice,

Does your Plash Palatka have leather or metalic grommets? Leather is war-time, metallic isn't (the ones in Enemy at the Gates weren't ;) )

A friend of mine is getting me a post-war one...I'll just paint over the grommets...
As I recall you fold the corner closest to the hood inward and put it around your shoulders like that.

I think I have a picture somewhere of how to do it...

I was hoping you'd put me out of my misery Flib :)

They're leather ones thankfully. I wouldn't have known the difference :D

Hmm Ive not actually identified a hood as such. There is only one slit opening with a toggle in the middle of it. I assume thats it?

I've just posted a topic on it. Hopefully that'll explain it a bit better.
The slit is for your right arm to go through if you button it up as a raincoat ;)
