Thought you guys will find this as interesting as I did.

This (large) video shows the medic rules that they will be using at there up and coming Long Winter game.

Everyone is issued with a Carlile Bandage, with a "wound/treatment/effect".

On being hit, you call for the medic, you open the bandage, find out where you are hit, the medic then applies the required treatment, i.e sulfa, IV, bandage, morphine, move to aid station etc... Then a timer is given to the wounded ("dead time/respawn", medic dissaperes/takes the wounded back to aid station, returns and takes back his "empty supplies" and issues the wounded with a new bandage. The wounded then joins the fight again.

Very interesting in my mind and extremely "do able" it would add an real dynamic to combat. And it looks good!

Allthough less of the dodgy British accents though :P

Sounds very interesting and very milsim...

Not really suitable for a standard game... perhaps it would be good for the 24 hour though?

We'll have a think!

I remember Firefight Reading trying a version of medic rules. There were a few variations tried:
All team members were medics, when someone is hit they call out for help, any of their team members if they can get to them, place a hand on their shoulder and count to six, the player is then back in the game.
I believe it was tried with only one dedicated medic per team as well.

Another possible add on to the above is if an enemy player can get to an opposing wounded player, he goes through the same procedure and that player is then dead and has to return to respawn point for an alloted period of time.

These are possibly the simplest medic rules I`ve come across and worked quite well in a normal skirmish. Players reactions were mixed with some going all out to rescue their wounded while others simply ignored them and took the fight forward, led to some good game play :)

Thats basically what we normally do... but sometimes a bandage may need to be tied on rather than just placing a hand on their shoulder... basically the same thing though

Thats an option, yup. I've also known it where the medic has to pull the guy out of the firefight to heal him up... and it taking several minutes.

Yup... and you could also add that the enemy can medic the wounded guys and if so they become prisoners... That one we use a lot!
