I'm just gauging interest to see if it would be feasible to run a milsim at one of the MODs sites in the UK.
This has come about from a conversation with a game organiser who already runs games at Catterick,Copehill etc.
He seems open to the idea, but it would be down to numbers.
Thoughts?

It's happened quite a few times in the past, but the only problem is the instability of bookings via the MOD.
We've had a few organisers have bookings cancelled, as if any government agency wants the site, and it's already been booked by civvies, then the civvies get the boot.
Catterick is one of those places I've thought was ideal for WWII game for some time. I went there several times before moving from modern to WWII airsofting all those years ago. As a result I have a suspicion as to who this organizer is you are referring to.
I also went with them to Copehill Down... and though it is a nice site, it'd be crap for WWII. Far too modern looking IMHO.
Unfortunately Catterick is a long way up north, a lot of players are waay down south... it'll be a long way for them to travel. I will say though it would be worth their while! Admittedly though we'd potentially get some of the Scottish players... I'm thinking of the PoW site in particular.
(I remember giving a lift to the Catterick site to one player and him telling me that he'd never been so far north before... )
Sorry Rich I disagree , sure sites are always interesting and all that, but...
If the game is being run by someone who is not part of the WW2 airsoft community then you will even find interest lacking from the North, let alone the south.
If you are asking to actually gauge interest (especially of those in the North) then I will have to say "no". If the organiser doesn't actually participate in WWII events then how can they have any idea what we do, or how ideas/the nature of it has changed over the last 7 years. I have as much interest in attending an open day where everyone is in WW2 kit, as an open day where only I am in WW2 kit.
If someone actually/actively involved in this community ran it, then sure, I of course would be interested.
Are we talking about stirling here? If so, I wouldn't go to any game they ran, anywhere, anytime. When they talk about "numbers", they mean "lets make as much money as possible".
Urban sites are mostly a gimmick to get the players in and, for that, the gameplay always suffers.
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
No it's not Stirling,I feel the same about them.
Going by the above posts I'll not take it any further, this guy runs games at all the Mod sites as well as running his own sites, yes cancellation is a risk, but going by this forum it's a risk at any WW2 game.
Ive run quite a few games on MOD sites and being bumped was a constant risk. The senny ones and Longmoor were excellent.
Im always happy to co-host events and used to pull in 120 to the big ones
I have enough kit for 30 germans and 20 allied (free rental kit)
And would love to run a game at Catterick. Last time I tried (with Sterling) they want £6k lol, that's more than any airsoft event I've ever run turned over
I can combine it with a visit to my Fav place in the world 'Reath' and drink OP all week before

As some of you already know I was stationed in Catterick not long ago before being posted to Northumberland. While there I booked a training day for my section at Whinny Hill and while there I enquired about booking an airsoft event. The answers I got didnt warrant further progression on the idea. Cost, availability, cancellation due to being bottom of the food chain, Stirling being the main Airsoft user at the site were but a few problems the WO informed me on.
