A post war Greek green polyester BD blouse and a pair of Belgian gaitors (will probably end up giving these away).
Non ww2 would be my grenade vest for my Vietnam kit, shame I don't have an M79 blooper gun...

pistols, i love em but never draw em.

Absolutely, a dead weight 99% of the time and always let you down when you need them most. They look out of place on most WWII portrayals as well. That said I have had lots of fun when using nothing but a pistol at the likes of Op Freshman in the tunnels.

Sounds much like my Russian 6Sh92 vest. that holds 10 40mm grenades when I have no grenade launcher, a bayonet I can't take out in the field, a dummy flare and won't hold airsoft grenades. Basically its a glorified & expensive but less useful Chicom rig. :slap:

well if we extend to non ww2 then my revelver grenade launcher, the original CAW one at about £300 plus six shells that never all work at the same time, totally cool to use but useless 99% of the time and too heavy as a side arm

armoury
m1a1 Thompson,sten mk2,mp40,stg44,sterling,mk2 bren gun,lee Enfield no4 mk1,Mauser Kar98, Walther ppk,smith and Weston m10 and Mauser m712
Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......
a problem shared is a problem halved ,but an advantage shared is no advantage at all
if a job's not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well

For me it's probably some P37 Cartridge carriers, I hoped they would be useful for holding sniper/shotgun magazines, but from what I've tried and heard, they're practically useless.

They look like this.

Hey, mess dress isn't useless! I've worn mine more than the Russian kit ever got used!

Oh, as far as pointless items go, I've also remembered I've got a ww2-era British Army Theodolite and tripod.

Anyone for a surveying team?

Maybe I could use my heliograph to signal back the results :)

All this kit is pointless with absolutely no practical use in every day life but it's FUN!

Just realised . . . . My Swedish winter coat ( Enemy at the Gates ) was very useful in the recent cold weather.

Forgot I had the Tanaka HP pistol Yith  I have a German grenade case that I have used once - for storing homemade labeled cans and bottles.

Got an RAF cold weather flying jacket - but no aircraft.

Have a German radio set for a half track - don't have one, half track that is.

Think I have 12 or maybe 14 zelts, all the pegs, ropes etc. Used 4 one weekend and another one as a poncho lol. I pull them out every year and reproof them all lol.

Maybe I should make an offload list?

From a Hertfordshire carboot sale several years ago...

...an unissued 1944 dated Cavalry/Royal Horse Artillery leather crupper (the bit of horse tack that loops around a horses tail to stop it's saddle/load from sliding forwards and onto it's shoulders/neck). Although at that point, I did own a pony (RIP Pheasant  ), I didn't own any other military load-bearing tack, nor a need to start owning some!

Exactly this (but mine is unissued and still light tan in colour): http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/30013847

I'm glad it was unissued, as these items - owing to their worn location - usually get nick named 'crapper' for obvious reasons...
