I came across this over on the Z1 forum, quite a distance from me, but it maybe has potential for a WW2 scenario ? ![]()

A bit of a treck for me too but it looks like it could be a good site for WWII. Any indication on how big it is?
berlin or starlingrad anybody, for that matter any city any period of ww2,potential for allied or axis victory based games or even german capture on first day and allied assault on secont with theoreticol time laps between.

Looks promising.
As it is a fort I was thinking more like Eben Emael or Sevastopol since its on the coast.
Depending on the layout it could make a good site for a St. Nazeire raid or a Eben-Emael glider assault game.
Looooks awsome ![]()

Free speech is expensive these days!

who's making the gliders?

I'll happily supply one of these -

I`m not sure, the directions on their website are slightly misleading but I think I`ve found it on google maps (although I could be mistaken). The buildings in the pics above are slightly to the right of what looks like a square building with and open centre. ![]()

Its the old East Weare Battery on the east side of Portland, it looks brilliant ,but I'm pretty sure the buildings in the pic are the only ones. What might be a little concerning is that there is no vehicular access within a mile of it ,and their muster point is an open ( public ? ) car park in full view of the Olympic Sailing HQ and Sailing Academy ,the Police Station ,and backing onto the Olympic Village,I might be being pessimistic ( and I don't want to be 'cos I live there - and would love a cqb and urban site on my doorstep) but I can see problems the first time a SWAT/Multicam team kit up there.
Also the staff at the refuelling quay are of the impression that it'll last until their first skirmish/smoke grenade ,and then all hell will let loose ,and bear in mind the real SBS are only a gunshot away,if you google Portland harbour ,the ship moored in the southeast corner is their training ship.

Cheers Stof, I`m not sure I like the idea of mustering in a public area, and a mile walk to the site ? I remember the hoohaa from players when they had to walk a mile to the beach on the D Day event. I`m not saying all airsoft players are unfit but I would think quite a few open dayers would soon get fed up with hoofing all their gear that distance. If those are the only buildings then it`s a shame as I was hoping for a `small town/village` environment '8)
Sorry ,I should have made it more clear. There is NO public access into the docks, they will have to collect everyone from the car park ,and it would have to be the car park ,nobody is going to get anywhere near the gates dressed for a game .The port has tha RFA maintenance contract for all RFA ships and backup for the Navy ,not to mention the odd liner ,cable ships and the Oil bunkering facility- which is in view of the site .
I am watching this site very keenly , it could be very good ,they are implying that they have access to the tunnels ,but as they run under the Verne Prison I doubt if they have very much access,I really hope they aren't cutting corners ,if they pull it off I for one will be a regular player, but if they haven't been completely open about what they are doing they could get shut down in record time ! I really hope not ,it could potentially bring down some really crap publicity,

Exactly what I was thinking. The proximity of the refuelling depot, police station and prison could either mean no pyro or it might just get canned. The fact that there's an SBS training facility nearby might have deadened their panic when it comes to bangs though.
The simple act of being in possession of any pyro in the vacinity of a refuelling depot if you're waiting to be ferried to the site could be an issue.
I asked a few questions over on the Z1 site and the chap who`s running it said that everyone meets in the public car park, names and car registrations are taken down, then the cars get escorted onto the site. Anyone walking gets ferried in a Land Rover. No turning up late then ![]()
Mind if I step in, gents?
CONTACT FRONT Ltd is not an airsoft company. We are a PMC (private military company) that currently has training contracts with the MOD, Police, private military and other "agencies" in cqb and close protection. We operate a secure compound within the port and use the car park as a muster point for the airsoft days we run fortnightly. Some of our clients prefer to use airsoft weapons over simunition due to the price difference. Therefore, we offer mainstream airsoft as it is something we deal with. Our website, is however set up for airsoft as our other clients do not "surf" for the services we offer. I will also add that most airsofters that use our facility, are not aware what we do.
So to answer a few questions:
Yes, the police know we operate as we are entered in the police shooting log daily (and they train there). This also covers players stopped with weapons in transit to the event or in our muster point.
No, we do not allow weapons on display at the muster point (it is a public place).
Yes, Pyro is permitted; we are in a seperate compound. The coastguard are informed daily when we operate. Only white smoke is permitted.
Yes, our use of the site has been very carefully considered. The security of the site has proved beneficial for some clients who would like to keep any puplic knowledge of their use the facility to a minimum. I believe one of these has already been mentioned.
No, the tunnel network we have does not go under the Verne?!
To cut to the chase, our staff's combined knowledge and experience in proffessonal training, allows us to put on quite an outstanding airsoft day. We put emphasis on IED effects and even scenarios where a fire mission is called in from a working radio set. Though airsoft is not our focus, it is an interest we a keen to defend. A lot of our staff find that though firing airsoft weapons differs greatly from the real thing, the tactical and weapons handling practice itself is invaluble and something we wish to keep doing.
I hope this clears up any rumours and I certainly hope some of you will visit us in the near future.
Regards,
DC

Super, thanks for the clarification DC and glad to see you on the forum - always nice to clear these things up 'from the horse's mouth'. Not that you are a horse, nor can horses even speak, but meh. ![]()

"simunition" - love it !

Yes, Pyro is permitted; we are in a seperate compound. The coastguard are informed daily when we operate. Only white smoke is permitted.
Does that mean the only pyro permitted is white smoke, or that the only smoke permitted is white? It's a fine point, but the latter could mean the likes of grenades and thunderflashes are permitted as well?
