There is a new airsoft site opening up in the Taunton area within the next few weeks hopefully. I've asked the owners if they would be willing to be host for WW2 events. They've said that it is not something they have considered but would be open to anything so long as they had an idea of player numbers. So before i get into game ideas and all that just a simple question for you all. Would you be willing to travel as far as Taunton?
This is a woodland site of approx 35 acres.
I'm very excited by the potential in this as the only reason i don't play more WW2 games is that i can't travel to the games in my old car. This would be right on my doorstep

It's closer and quicker to get to than Manchester and the Pavlov's House game is for me.
I have a small skewer hidden in the collar of my jumping jacket, and a razorblade in my gaiter, as well as my knife.
pretty much what i travel to most games mate so dependent on when i would definitley consider it.
I *have* travelled that far for games, Taunton is quite near major routes. Can you show us the actual location?
It's just south of Taunton on the blackdown hills, just off the M5. Don't know exactly where yet.

Being a new site i would guess, and this really is a guess, that the earliest something could be put together would be early summer. I would also imagine it would be a one day game. A big thank you for the responses so far, but i need as much interest as i can to show the site owners that this is a viable thing. Please spread the word

No website i'm afraid, as i said it's all very early days, i'm just trying to get in there nice and early and get this established as they start up.
Not impossible... but it depends on the site and the scenario... and the date.
There are 10 of us in our group and I am sure we would be up for that site being in the South keep us all informed

I should be going up to the site next saturday with a group of local players to size it up and get a feel for it before it officially opens. The site location puts it up near the airfields on the blackdown hills, one of those airfields is Smeatharpe, formally known as Upottery Airfield.
Now for those who haven't seen it there was a little tv show called Band of Brothers about the US 101st Aiborne Division, one or two of you might have heard of it 
. You can see where this is going.
Given the local history i feel inclined to run a D-Day game with the US Airborne and any german units based around the St Mere Eglise/ St marie du mont area. Would there much interest in this scenario as i know the popularity of portraying US Airborne seems to have faded over the years. 101st and 82nd would be covered given misdrops, glider troops would be great if anyone has the uniform.

I'm not sure it has faded, just that there is so much more to be explored. There are loads of chaps with airborne uniforms - I'd imagine many haven't yet played at a WW2 themed game (and probably won't be on this forum so make sure you advertise widely on all the other general interest airsoft forums) - so if you keep the game as 'inclusive' as possible then you have a decent chance of getting enough interested players. It ought to be a goer - at least SW players can't moan there aren't enough games within easy reach!
Hear Hear CW inclusive not just airborne and you can`t go too wrong as said in previous post won`t be coming as airborne but happy to shoot em!

Thats great Diablo, what kit do you all have? I've found plenty of local german players but no allies yet 
I'm a 3 hour drive away but would be intrested. (have 82nd 101st and basic brit load out) Lots of Yank players live near me and a few brits too, so sure car sharing could be a possibility. And if we are very lucky and James was intrested he might be in the GMC! But all depends on dates for me.
