I have found a great spot to set up an airsoft site 20min drive from my house I have walked round it a number of times now and it's great.
It's better than the December site we had for Battle of the Bulge.

The ground level with the trees just above the brown field is about 50tf above the level of the brown field, it has a drop a bit like the railway cutting at Close Action.
X markes the AA position.
It has an old AA gun position and earth banks around it.
This draggons tooth is in the centre of a 15ft square concrete plinth with steel posts around the edge.
A nice corigated iron hanger shape building with a sliding door.
I don't know what this building was look how thick the walls are.

I think it is Lancashire council owned, there is a bit of logging going on now and then but not much.
It seems very like the arrangement at Close Action Fineshade Woods Corby.
I made an enquiry last year but had no reply as such, I would want someone to come in on it with me if I were to pursue it.

You could try phoning your local land registry office. I think there is a small fee to find out the owner of land. Site looks superb by the way.

The question is if I find it is the Lancashire Council do I say I want to use it as a paint ball site rather than airsoft?

Well I was passing there again today so had an other look over it.
Well it's not some kind of military installation 
as I thought it might have been.
It is an old coal mine so little wonder there are no buildings on it.
I found a second concrete plinth which I had never spotted before and it is a cap over the old mineshaft and a warning sign with NCB (National Coal Board) on it. Why they have the dragon

How many people would travel to Merseyside for WW2 oriented games

I'm sure most of the Northern wing of CiA would be up for it if you could get a game going Nigel It's the insurance you might find hard ot sort out without it being a proper site.
Me and my mates would be interested, but we're up in Scotland so could only make weekenders etc.
i would come up for one off events but its a bit far for regular games for me
Well due to some changes in my career direction and the option of 20 months pay if I leave this could be an option for me so I am looking into it.

in know another 6 airsofters, NON ww2 in machester who go weekly, but travel all over the uk.
they were GUTTED when F+O closed.
also gucci and jamie from f+O were looking to open a site in the NW.
but it fell though when developers changed there mind.
i think with good advertising , i could be a sucsess.
the north west hasnt got o central site, its either yorkshire or wales.
there is one in nelson, but i dont think its doing to well due to how far in the sticks it is

if a group of mates play (and you run it as noncomercal) again Nudge nudge wink wink, you dont charge to play HONEST,
its just mates playing on private land with land owners permisssion.
if its not for profit, who needs insurance.

Erm, you might want to check your facts there.
You'll still need to get Publib Liability insurance as you'll need cover in the off-chance that someone strays onto the site and gets hurt.
Also it's the waivers that tend to be bollox. You can still be sued by someone even if they have signed a waiver.
Altha Omega used to say you could play with BASC membership as that includes 3 mil. 3rd party cover. I think they wanted

Won't all of these, and similar, legal questions/grey areas/ uncertaintaies be tightened up soon as part and parcel of the VCR act coming into force? It may even BECOME a requirement to sign up with the governing body mightn't it - can't see why it wouldn't be if they're trying to find ways of deciding who are/aren't genuine airsofters -
