Hi as i am new in all , i was wondering what are open days ??? ![]()
have you played airsoft at all yet ?
Not as a event comes no , but i do have bb guns such as a m1 berata gas blow back , and a sa80 , but otherwise no i havent realy done allot
So you haven't been to an airsoft site for a days play yet ?
BTW which SA80 ?
"Open days" are simply that. Go along to a site, pay your green fee and play for the day ![]()
If you're looking for a "local" site, have a look at
http://www.ukairsoftmap.co.uk/
As your profile says you're in Brighton, you could do a lot worse than pop over to Tom Andrew's site (Elite Action Games) over at Worthing for your first Skirmish.

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........
Few of my mates go to Elite and they say its good, I have been down myself (infact its where I played my 1st airsoft game all those many moons ago!
)

Ahh i see ok , well ill give it ago :] my sa80 is just the same as the british wepon they use now but its only a normal springer
May I suggest you hire an AEG when you go, springers don't fare too well against the automaticness, power and accuracy of the Leccy guns ![]()

Ahh I see ok , well ill give it ago :] my sa80 is just the same as the british wepon they use now but its only a normal springer
You'll need an AEG for skirmishing , you'll be dead meat and outranged with a springer . Have you found the ASCUK forum yet ?
well i am getting a tompson from this site
http://www.mark1bbguns.co.uk/shop/produ ... cts_id=427
Dont know if it is worth the money , do u think it is ???
And they wouldnt let me take my gas m1 berata would they ??
If it is a normal gas blowback beretta it will be fine to use.
The Thompson you have there is the Chinese version, which apparently out-performs the Normal Thompson that Tokyo Marui manufacture. (about £230ish)
You'll need some high capacity magazines (that hold about 420 rounds) or lots of the low capacity magazines that hold 47 BBs like what comes with the gun. 47 rounds would let you shoot for about 7-9 seconds before the mag ran out. AEGs fire approximately 3-10 rounds a second depending on upgrades/internals/batteries etc.
Oddball has done a review of the thompson on that link you posted here http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/php/phpBB2 ... php?t=1238

Ok so this one is worth getting ? i am allso looking for a m1 garand but cant find any uk site :S
The M1 Garand only comes in Gas blowback, and it fires 8mm rounds rather than the normal 6mm 1s. They're quite hard to get hold of, and the magazines even more so, they tend to be pretty unreliable too sometimes. http://www.zerooneairsoft.com is where I got mine from, and I got my mags from Hong Kong.
That Thompson is worth getting, have a shop around though, I'm sure you could get that rifle cheaper somewhere.

ok m8 thanks for the help , i am thinking of getting it from there becuase its the cheepist i have found it for and comes with a sling and all . but i am woundering if that sling is a new sling like on the new wepons , or a old looking one
Check out RSOV
http://www.rsov.com/store/product_info. ... f6127dcbf5
You'll pay delivery and psosibly customs on top , but a lot of people have bought stuff from RSOV with no bother.
Its a standard green sling that the Chinese manufacturers put in with all of their guns, I got 1 the other day with my M14.
Thompson Slings are usually tan/green canvass with black buckles.

ok well i will proberly still buy this , but maybe get a tompson sling later
Thats exactly the same thing, only getting it from rsov is getting it direct from Honk Kong, send the chap an email on that site, I know he deals through Paypal, but if you havent got that there may be other methods. Plus his thompson mags are Dirtily cheap ![]()

Yes and allso , its 50 pounds !! :] do u think he will acept a cheque ?

These are the spare mags for it ??
