"Open days" are simply that. Go along to a site, pay your green fee and play for the day :)

If you're looking for a "local" site, have a look at

http://www.ukairsoftmap.co.uk/

As your profile says you're in Brighton, you could do a lot worse than pop over to Tom Andrew's site (Elite Action Games) over at Worthing for your first Skirmish.

May I suggest you hire an AEG when you go, springers don't fare too well against the automaticness, power and accuracy of the Leccy guns :)

You'll need an AEG for skirmishing , you'll be dead meat and outranged with a springer . Have you found the ASCUK forum yet ?

If it is a normal gas blowback beretta it will be fine to use.

The Thompson you have there is the Chinese version, which apparently out-performs the Normal Thompson that Tokyo Marui manufacture. (about £230ish)

You'll need some high capacity magazines (that hold about 420 rounds) or lots of the low capacity magazines that hold 47 BBs like what comes with the gun. 47 rounds would let you shoot for about 7-9 seconds before the mag ran out. AEGs fire approximately 3-10 rounds a second depending on upgrades/internals/batteries etc.

Oddball has done a review of the thompson on that link you posted here http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/php/phpBB2 ... php?t=1238

The M1 Garand only comes in Gas blowback, and it fires 8mm rounds rather than the normal 6mm 1s. They're quite hard to get hold of, and the magazines even more so, they tend to be pretty unreliable too sometimes. http://www.zerooneairsoft.com is where I got mine from, and I got my mags from Hong Kong.

That Thompson is worth getting, have a shop around though, I'm sure you could get that rifle cheaper somewhere.

Its a standard green sling that the Chinese manufacturers put in with all of their guns, I got 1 the other day with my M14.

Thompson Slings are usually tan/green canvass with black buckles.

Thats exactly the same thing, only getting it from rsov is getting it direct from Honk Kong, send the chap an email on that site, I know he deals through Paypal, but if you havent got that there may be other methods. Plus his thompson mags are Dirtily cheap :)
