Was wondering whether anybody knew how widespread this was, I was going to take 1 of Carly with her hair done up in 40's style, but I was wondering whether it was something from Hollywood.

I don't think 1940s hairstyles were confined to Hollywood.
In any case, wouldn't you have a photo of a loved one in your wallet next to your heart - or does putting it in your helmet give some sort of divine protection (as well as knackering the photo with condensation).

Paint yer sweet hearts name on yer rifle stock :good:

And make sure the remain your sweet heart, otherwise in the future your rifle will remind you of pain.

Though I would think a photo of ones sweetheart would be carried wherever a soldier damn well pleased, unless anyone is aware of military legislation on this?

From what i've read most pictures of sweethearts, loved ones etc were kept in wallets, waterproof bags and so on to protect them from damage , and then kept in jacket pockets or some place on the webbing.

Like you guys only place i have seen them kept in helmet liners is films.

cheers Phil

I think Webby should be encouraged in this as he has made mention of forties style hair in the picture but no mention of clothing!

Surely it would be painful to walk around with a photo shoved inside your helmet?!?

Hang on, are we talking about the same helmets here?! :|

I'm doing a similar thing, Katie was well chuffed at the idea of a forties style photo to put upon my person somewhere...so much so that we ended up doing a forties style pin up photoshoot...

I was a pleased as punch :D
