About 3 weeks ago I placed an order for some Y straps on Richard Underwood's site.
A few days later he replied to tell me he no longer stocked that item so what did I want to do.
As the order was for a friend (new forum member Cowboy) I had to ask him and he said get a refund.
So next day I asked for a refund over paypal.
Well about 2 weeks or more passed and nothing so I sent him a second email, no reply.
So I went on paypal and filed a report against him.
A few days later he sent me an email saying that as I had filed a report he could not refund my money as he was locked from doing so
So I got on paypal about middle of last week and closed the report as he had told me he would refund me.
That is several days ago and still no refund or reply to tell me what he is doing.
The Y-straps are still listed on his site so people can order them. ![]()

Your best bet with Richard is to use the good old fashioned telephone! He is a very nice fella so im sure he will sort you out.
It's likely that he has run out of the post war Police Y-straps but he does do repro FJ Y-straps. With Richard (and with SoF) I always call first to see if they have stock of the items I want before I do an online order! saves a lot of hassle as neithers web site have automated stock status on them.

Not a term I would use just slow and lacking in communication.
I got an email from him today saying he sent me a refund but I don't see it on paypal.
Anyway I think it has been a busy period for him lately.

Well yes, he's been at a few shows in the last few weeks.
And I just received notification that he will be away for the next two weeks also.

Yes me to got 4 emails saying so which means my time will run out on paypal to post a new claim in if I wait for him to return. ![]()
I think I may do it again, the fact that I can do it should be proof enough he didn't refund me as he says.

Unfortunately on Paypal once you have been talked into closing a claim against a person it does not allow you to re-open one so all protection and proof is lost. ![]()

To be honest no but I have said all I can in email a number of times.
I placed the first order at about 23.00 hrs after work one night, I am just not into ringing to ask if they do have a thing before I place an automated order. ![]()
I was doing a favour for a mate so wasn't making phone calls just wanted it done and out the way.

I agree that it can sometimes be a bit of a ballache but the reason we all put up with his online idiosyncracies is that he supplies some of the best mid priced Kraut clobber in the UK. Once you cross him off the list you limit yourself to the European suppliers who can also be a pain to deal with. I bet you will resolve all your issues with a 5 minute call rather than endless emails and complaint procedures

Hmmm, that shouldn't be an excuse for poor service though...in fact, one could say that he's possibly taking advantage of that monopoly position.

I've never had a problem with Richard...when i've spoken with him! Online orders though do seem to be ignored until they are chased up - seems daft to run an online service if you can't be bothered to look after it. Didnt find him particularly helpful at W&P either, seemed more interested in chatting with friends than seeing if browsers needed any help - i took my money elsewhere!
Well I should be able to re-open negotiations for my refund next month 
Lets hope no-one else has ordered any behind me.
