1. SMLE, Mosin Nagant, Garand (all run sub 350fps)
2. Normally only at open days. Though I had to switch from my SMLE to sten at one of Josh's WWII events after being seriously outgunned.

1) Springer K98 & M14 derived Garand
2) I am very selective with the use of the K98 because as you say if you are facing a sea of AEG,s and or high ammo limmits whats the point, even if you actually hit someone chances are they wont notice when their expecting to get hosed rather than a single shot. The Garand is a compromise so I can at least have the feel of a rifle in my hand. To be honest though it looks like there will be at least 2 rifle freindly games this year so not so bad :)

1) Garand, oh bugger that's all I have left - Time to seriously start work on the Wz.29. All my rifles have been/are/will be sub 350.
2) Like Rich I have felt the need to upgrade for the Gunman games, otherwise I have even used the rifle at open days.
Obviously as I run the rifles only games I do have an opinion on what is needed to make rifles really work, and not feel/be outgunned: hence did it.

1) No.4 running at 420 fps and SMLE at 330 fps. Need to finish work on SMLE to get mag feed reliable.
2) When I have taken rifle along I have used it. In a section it works satisfactorily, You can get a feeling of getting a lot of automatic fire being directed back at you. This was a real world problem noted in after action reports during WW2.
3) South Buckinghamshire

1. The K98/VSR Springer at about 450, and the G43/M14 conversion at 330.
2. Don't have any SMG anymore although the G43 gives me that option but found at most games when along for the ride with the rest of the FJ boys that don't feel outgunned at all as have my squad there to back me up.

SMLE, now I've finally got it to be reliable. Running at about 350 or so (shot the chrono trying to measure it.. )
I rarely get the chance to play as a rifleman now, tending towards organisational roles, so I generally carry the sten as it's less unwieldy.

However, I use a semi-auto L1A1 in cold war (against hordes of AK's!), and quite enjoy the challenge of being outgunned.

No 4 springer firing around 340
No 4 gas firing anywhere between 160 and 360
SMLE currently firing too hot
Garand firing at 345 (brilliant)

Yup, the Lee Enfields have been left in the car but the Garand is great. The ability to quickly snap out two or three shots and then take cover again meant that although outgunned by SMGs it felt more proportionate.

K98 springer running on exactly 500FPS with a 0.20g (which is the South African FPS limit for bolt-action rifles). I use it at all WW2 games, and at most open games, firing 0.30g King Arms BB's. Players on the receiving end rarely cheat...

No 4, K98, both springers. M14 based G43 or SVT 40 depending which bits I bolt on the end. All sub 350, people generally seem to notice I've hit them as I use .25s.

For Sov or German impressions the M14 is my standard weapon at games where I don't know what to expect as I've kept it with the full auto option so I can play at Aeg spray and pray too if that is what everyone else is doing.

I've used both bolties at aeg heavy games without any huge problems, although as Ramsay says, it helps if you are with a bunch of aeg toting people. In a command role I find a rifle is lighter and easier to handle than many smg, especially the horrible Thompson. I have occasionally swapped weapons mid game, more commonly do boltie one day and aeg the other at weekenders.

Sheffield.

Cheers
Martin

I've got an ICS M1 Garand. It's the only weapon I own at the moment, though I'm looking for a Kar98 and MP40 as I'm getting extremely twitchy going to events with only one gun. The ICS Garand is a great piece of kit; sturdy and reliable, accurate, but it's reassuring to know you have a back up. Just have to wait until I've got the UKARA for anymore gun purchasing.

I took it to RoTT, unfortunately it was too hot at the time, meaning a trip to Dadio to get it downgraded to about 320fps :)

I'm in South London... finding a decent skirmish site around here is, surprisingly, a ball ache.

ics Garand at about 320
gas kar 98 about 330
and soon a mosin Nagant
co2 m1 carbine at about 330

but my Garand is my main weapon in Us kit , used it at the last 3 of joshs games no problem though as the front end came flying off i had to swap to my trusty ics M3 at the last game, but we tend to have half of the squad with garands and half with smg and normally a bar in there as well.

Have also used my Garand a few times on open days and had great fun with it , but i do get drawn into using my m3 as well as its just a nice gun as well.

1. K98 sub-350
2. No. I am a rubbish shot, and don't expect to hit anything, no matter what the opposition are armed with

ICS Garand at 300fps - Awsome.
PPS K98 variable fps
Matrix N01 Mk3 (fps to be determined)
2x M1 Carbines circa 330 fps

Garand is my go to rifle for US, though my BAR needed an airing at last two games. Not felt need for more firepower yet.
Will be using K98 at next walk on game and at Spilamberto.

1 - S&S N.4 (sub 350), K98 conversion (sub 350)
2 - If K98 was more reliable would use it every event, have to say that being out gunned doesnt really worry me - accuracy of rifles makes using them a lot more fun!

1. Rough and dodgy Bar-10 conversion to generic rifle
2. Nope I'll play with it on an open day against all AEG's so if i've brought it I'll use it
