Got back from Hungary just a few hours ago to discover that for some unbeknownst reason, ASCUK have decided to delete their WWII forum. (or they've just banned me from that forum)
There was some issue about their protesting to posting links to this site, but there was never anything official said, no PMs passed to me or anything like that so its all a bit strange really.
I ran it since its creation ooo back in 2003? (shortly before UKAN folded) and its served its purpose so Im not that bothered that its gone. I am a bit disappointed that no one was mature enough to discuss any problems or even to state any problems but meh. ![]()
No longer involved in airsoft.
There was discussion on the forum itself, but it seems that that was deleted just before you came online.
I voluntarily wihtdrew my membership and support for the forum over it.
Childish and unecessary.
I've supported and defended ascuk a lot in the past over numerous spats but when they dont allow *airsofters* (not sites or business) to run non profit events and advertise them then they cease to be a community to me.
Perhaps its because they feel it a threat i dont know i thought it was all very complimentary and we worked together, i've only ever redirected folk here for definite advice which ican offer them on there
a shame really

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Yup... I fail to see the reasoning behind it myself... They seemed to think it would cause them work to host the forum... dunno why... I can't imagine they'd have to do a thing!
<sigh> Well their loss
Bit sad really. I'll be the first to say I've not got on with some of the leadership there but I played the better man and just got on with stuff rather than trying to swing my ample weight around as thats what makes it work.
I agree with you Gadge that its ironic that as an airsoft "community" they're not very community minded. In my experience it works when people are mutually supported, information is shared freely and there is no intidation or threats (real or percieved). Sadly over the last few years its gotten less and less like the ideal.
Old 'uns just filled me in on the details of what happened.
Ah well. Salute. Last Post, and move on to the next objective ![]()

Yep not sure why they saw us a threat / or not , however it's entirely their perrogative to close it down . Certainly when it looked like ASCUK was voluntarily closing earlier this year I was glad to have this place.
Anyhoo let's move on !
