Cheers chomers, I've nit seen that type before 
The one in the picture must be modefied from one of those as it looks like it has 2 small pokets side by side under his right arm and only one rear pouch at the small of his back.
Armoury: AGM MP40, AGM Sten MkII, K98K/vsr and Maruzen P38.

Could it possibly be US D-day vest instead?

That was my first thought kie, but again they have the upper back pouch and spade holder.
