We all know that most players have a selection of impressions to choose from. We also know that some people have definite preferences on who they won't portray.
Let's try and get a general idea of who the real WW2 "baddies" are (circa 2011). This stuff is useful for game organisers. Feel free to explain your choice if you want, but don't feel obliged to. Just your vote will suffice. You can tick as many options as you like.
Please, please, PLEEASE don't start bashing or questioning others on their reasoning.
I refuse to portray ATS, WRENs, or WACs.
What about Italians, Romanians, Polish, Hungarians, Finns?
I refuse to portray ATS, WRENs, or WACs.
Japanese for me only because as a pale western european I think I would look daft

For work and personal reasons I have no interest in portraying Axis or Soviet troops. I see no need to portray American troops and prefer not to do so. I would in addition to British troops portray other allied troops as required and available. So Canadian, Australian, Indian, African, Polish, Dutch and even Free French would be additional options.
Shoudlnt there be an option for no one?
within normal WW2 airsoft rules i would portray anyone, provided i could get the kit.
Even the Japanese, who seem to be the least popular
WW2 Weapons AGM Sten, AGM MP40
Japanese are way off limits for me, they made the SS look like angels. No redeeming qualities for me at all so I can't even use the 'meh, I just portray a fighting soldier' reasoning. I might be persuaded to play as their enemy though.
I don't think I could bring myself to put on a Russian uniform either but my thinking is a bit mixed here as the history is rather more multi-faceted, so I couldn't say 'never ever' but more 'I'd rather not'.
wouldent do american because the rest of the airsioft world seem to have that covered and im fed up with the super american ego .i dont see them as the baddies of ww2 just that i think they had a bit of an agenda relating to the the size of the british empire.not that i think this is translated to the average gi any more than the average german soldier was rageing nazi jew hateing meglomaniac.its just that those in power way above had an agenda that was a little anti british empire and not as white as snow as all the properganda would suggest.now ive said it but id rather do german,at least hitler only reluctantly faught the british.

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......
a problem shared is a problem halved ,but an advantage shared is no advantage at all
if a job's not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well
After reading some of the other comments i think i should jusitfy my feelings towards wearing the Japanese kit
I have played as the Japanese numoerus times on Videogames MOH rising sun and COD world at War, i dont see playing them in airsoft anyworse than playing them on video games. events need enimies, I would use as little insignia as possible and imo, insigina is what gives unifrom the evil or negtaive conotations.
WW2 Weapons AGM Sten, AGM MP40
Japanese, mostly because I'm a 6'3" fatbloke. I dont see any reasons not to play them in a game, it's a game?
I would personally avoid any overtly political uniforms, you dont see many on the front lines so not interesting to me.
aka Stigroadie

"Truth is a shining goddess, always veiled, always distant, never wholly approachable, but worthy of all the devotion of which the human spirit is capable. "
I have absolutely no qualms about portraying anyone at all. Except Americans.
But that's mainly because the uniform and equipment, and even the country and culture don't interest me in the slightest.
What about Italians, Romanians, Polish, Hungarians, Finns?
Were they in WW2?
The American army in WW2 appear to have become the new Nazis...who'd a thunk it!?
I've no problem portraying anyone, it's just pretend. Just because I put on a uniform doesn't mean my personality or politics change!
Get use out of the kit you have NOW before buying more is my advice in these cash strapped times.
The only ones i wount portray are americans, for my own personal and political reasons
i did have full us ww2 kit, i used it in my "pissing on the american flag" video, and then used it in the first bulge game, but i sold it after that to fund my german stuff
russain, i really like doing
german, i really like doing
japanese, id do to fill out a side, if it was an amazing game, but either borrow kit, or basic green combats
british, if there was an event i really wanted to go to but was booked out as german,i would do brit, but if i could loan kit, as i dont fancy buying it.
im really keen to get a french resistance, kit together, im halfway there, but definatly on the "allo allo" theme, complete with huge mustache and stripy blue and white shirt.
and off ww2 airsoft, , im even getting together a red indian outfit.
ive also done Ali G, and even worn a suit to airsoft before now.
"Take that you rotton helping of strawberry flan!"
Joseph Porta to "strawberrys and cream", in the sven hassel book ,ogpu prison
I've no problem portaging anyone, it's just pretend. Just because I put on a uniform doesn't mean my personality or politics change!
Like that. I could portray them all, the only kit I am 'missing' from the poll posted is British and Japanese.
ive also done Ali G, and even worn a suit to airsoft before now.
I have worn a chicken suit to airsoft before

 Get use out of the kit you have NOW before buying more is my advice in these cash strapped times.
definitely agree here
wont do Jap because
a. another load out to buy
b. not many sites for a jungle skirmish
just my tuppence worth
for work reasons i cant do any german kit really the radio station i work for would flip out!
as for the yank kit...everyone does it.....i feel bad enough owning a thompson cuz for us kiwis its basically the only gun us allies can use ...tho god willing warren well get a wiggle on and get my sten mech
as for japs...i really dont think i could do it....ill leave it for the jap reenactors
Kiwi airsofter, just pew-pewing.
For all those saying they won't do German for work reasons. I'd LOVE to see an employer try to stop you. What you do outside work has nothing to do with them as long as it's legal. The word 'tribunal' springs to mind.
