Having read pages after pages on 'another' forum of reenactors slagging others off and posting ridiculing photos of other folk at events they have personal issue with it makes me realise how polite and civil we all are in WW2 airsoft. Even though we have a wide spectrum of personal takes on why we attend WW2 airsoft events and what type of WW2 airsoft event we most enjoy, it is without doubt a community with a common purpose, just getting on with what we do and not concerning ourselves with anyone else but ourselves. So pats on the back for being nice people, on a personal journey of education, self-fulfilment and entertainment. :good:

Heh, on another tack... Has anyone else got back shattered after an airsoft event, had a hot bath, crawled into bed and dropped off to sleep. Only to be woken with a sudden jerk as you try to avoid a 6mm BB heading your way? And had to explain pathetically to the better half that someone was shooting at you?

funny you should bring this up CM, I have only been on the forum for a month or so and i have been surprised by the mature manner with which everyone approaches each post. As you very correctly stated alot of sites end up with an elitist hard core who dictate what can and cant be said....that is not the case here. I do think it is only right and proper that the site admins and creators of the forum should take a bow, especially as "newbies" like me, who no one has met in person (yet) can feel so welcomed and at home so quickly.

I have been looking into getting involved in the "re-enactment" scene for a few months, but i am struggling to find a forum which is both informative and friendly and since discovering ww2airsoft the benchmark of my expectations has increased.

regarding the "twitchy nights" i am glad you admitted to dodging BB's in your sleep i thought i was the only one, i think its a very mild and not comparable version of the real world "shell shock" or "BB shock"- my only concern is that when i am asleep i still cant shot straight and miss the opposition

I am always impressed at the general civility of this forum. The Pozzi forum is the only other I have browsed really and the tone in the general section seems to have been just shocking for some time. I dread to think how hideous the "off topic" section gets, I have never bothered to register for it, but it seems to be where they move the most awful threads when things get really out of hand in "general".

And as for ducking incoming BBs as I'm drifting off to sleep, not so much these days, but in the days of the more SMG heavy games, then yes, every time.

Freindly here, hell yes...would you get a custard pie in the face...only if your silly, is this a forum for debate, god yes and for the better! But what it has that no other forum does (well other than mine but heh, I would say that :slap: ) is an honest dedication for its main topic being WW2 airsoft and all its flavours. Im not talking about ww2 theme open days here, im talking about the raw, now established WW2 airsoft scene and its community of nut cases, Edumacated historians and men destined for the front lines. To be honest, not even milsim has had this dedicated community, with all one goal. Living as a 1940s soldier in field, without making it living history! The key here is role-play :good:

Now then, this waking up in the middle of the night with potential enemy shooting 6mm at you! That sounds like a well deserved break from the front and some down time needed at the HQs Med centre. Clean sheets, prety nurses and a cuppa made with real milk, not that powdered crap! :happyclap:

These days it very tame in comparison. All the conflict is within the hobby.

I too dodge bb fire in my sleep !
As for the forum ive always liked pepple saying what they think, in a nice way without fear of censorship.
Although a few of my posts have been edited/removed over the years, it was always clearly explained why, and with no malice ( mostly stopping me saying illegal things that i would have gotten in to trouble for. Thanks mods :good: )

Well done to all members, for following the golden rule!

And as for ducking incoming BBs as I'm drifting off to sleep, not so much these days, but in the days of the more SMG heavy games, then yes, every time.

This morning, after I had hit snooze a couple of times I realised that I was dreaming some bastardized mix of Wild West town ne'er-doing and the Hillsborough disaster.

Obviously my sleepy brain had muddled the recent Flying Lead game, and the reports on the today programme I was trying frantically to make go away so I could have another 10 minutes.

Well, politeness cost nothing, but this is one of the most civilised internet forums I participate in.

I'm not sure I can recall dodging imaginary BBs in my sleep, but my reactions are so poor they no doubt just hit me, like they do in real games :) I do have strange mixed up dreams after a game though, I'm usually as high as kite for a couple of days. Endorphins my wife says, just like after a long run.

After a four month break I'm very ready for some more game time at Eagles.

Cheers
