I have a horrible feeling that if most of us got our collections out, it would look something like that, particularly if adding in modern stuff too.

Cheers

I've only just started re sorting the 'war room'

Its pretty much crammed with kit from 1908 to 1988.

I'd take some pics but most of its bagged up in vacumm bags to save space now or in bergans or holdalls to keep it in 'era/nation' packages.

Eg there are two 80s bergans full of uk cold war kit, a soviet ruck sack full of cold war VDV stuff, two shelves and a holdall of DDR kit, A shellving unit just for axis kit, a corner unit full of steel helmets and i've still yet to pile up all the rifles.

Then *cupboards* full of 'soft kit' like socks, gloves, scarves... boxs of insignia, a box full of soft hats like berets

And then there are 40s suitcases full of sians wwii kit...

My mess dress, service dress and my own uniforms from soldiering (only 95s and a set of no2s) go in my bedroom wardrobe as i've run out of room.

It all gets a bit silly really!

Actually I took some pics of the war room to show what utter chaos its in at the mo and what a nightmare it is tying to keep it sorted.

The seemingly innocent entrance with my old TA units crest on it... :)

A pile of berets, side caps, peaked caps and a viet cong hat...

more hats

The one shelving unit which is cupboards full of brit soft kit followed by a shelf of wwii brit kit, then a shelf of DDR NVA service and field kit, then a shelf of ss and heer kit and lastly on top Sians BD and a nurses cloak.

The two rates are full of brit and german webbing, the flight cases vietnam kit and KD kit, the holdall and 58 webbing are all BAOR kit

Bags of stuff still needing sorted covering a wwii ammo crate full of... erm well ammo knives and mags

One of several boxs of insignia

The chaos that is currently the floor and one of sians suitcases

And i've still got to try and find room for all these aegs, the riot gear and other props for the upcoming FALLOUT 3 game in Jan.

I'm seriously considering a loft conversion at the mo...

I mean there is also countless other bits and bobs dotted around the house, i have a 38 set radio being repaired in the dining room, the hallway shoerack has a few pairs of combat boots on it and the conservatory cupboard has a bergan full of modern kit.

I should sell some more of it off but whenever i do some git puts on a battle that i need the kit i just sold to take part in!

Well the new plan is to have kit in bergan or holdalls, 'crash bag' style so i can think 'cold war brit, yep just grab that bag then..' rather that messing about getting webbing ut of one box, combats out of another, etc etc

Thats cracking chap.

If you've got a spare staffords cap badge and you're doing officer they look good 'bronzed' (officers cap badges were supposed to be bronzed but obviously the supply chain meant this wasnt always the case).

Bronze badges are about 50 quid so i bought a 3 quid repro, sprayed it black and then drybrushed bronze model paint over it... looks about right.

:)

Had these a while, but thought I'd share. They were taken in Normandy (near Carentan) and the Jeep is a restored war time model (not mine unfortunately)!-- attachment is not available ---- attachment is not available --

The Staffords officers didn't use bronze cap badges on their maroon berets though. They used normal brass ones. This is documented in "By Land, Sea and Air". On other types of headgear bronze is correct mind you.

Normal staffords cap badges are bi-metal aren't they?

They are galife ,officers breeches.
It's all repro, the cap from Sovietpower, the gymnastoirka and galife from the History Bunker/ComradeIvan, which is Koliya1985 only he didn't have my sizes on ebay so I went to Comradeivan, not much difference in price and service was pretty quick.
The buckle from Morigi, can't recommend it ,nothing fits it ,pretty unique design for some reason.
The insignia I made myself having totally given up on actually getting the correct NKVD collar tabs.

Nice! That was quick since you were asking about the loadout!
Shirt, shorts, socks and heltmet from SOF, perchance?
BTW; Your helmet, with the three holes in the rim, was designed to be worn with the holes at the back of your head :good:
