British Infantryman, 2nd Battalion, Royal Ulster Rifles; Normandy, 1944.

Braces arrived from SOF today, thankfully, as my weight loss drive has seen me shed a stone and the trousers were hanging off me (these are God's own chosen piece of kit; essential if you don't want your battle dress riding up).

Also arrived, GS Cap, to be modelled in to a Caubeen for my London Irish impression. :good:

Nice. Could do with a strimmer though (or a somewhat less farby sickle is also available from SoF, sadly come with plastic handle).

I'm holding out for the SoF Flamethrower, personally. It's the only thing that would dent the untamed wild of the garden.

A couple of pics of our MG42 team from a game at Shoot'n'Scoots WW2 game a few months back. I have a 1944 impression my kamerad has a 1940 look. Still bloody good fun to have a decent turn out of Germans at the Hill, usually only a handful of Krauts, this time we had 10 plus!

With a rejigging of the hop system and a more teeth friendly spring the MG42 is one excellent support weapon. With its "Brrrruuuuup" gearbox sound the Allies said it was like the real thing and hated when it opened up!

The PP Mauser I cannot praise enough, one hellova gas rifle, cracking shot.

Cheers guys, yes we were bloody lucky! Although the woollen tunics were a killer in that sun... but suppose that's part of the fun playing Kraut!

Here's some allied flavour to add to raffles' pics from the previous page. Same event at POW. 8)

Killing huns is tiring work.

Smashing day, and the first time I'd donned full kit!

no no no! ALL braces should be white, end of. We will have no pea-dot-44-pat' braces here sir!

lots of bits of various undergarments were white, throughout all the armies.

(I have also played 2 whole games in Brit shirt order, no detriment to having white braces showing was found in the slightest.)

I could kiss you. Manfully.

I've run out of Blanco... not just that but anymore to add to the 'to do' list and I'll cry.
