Hi all,

I honestly cant remember if I have posted these on this forum before, if I did it must have been a fair old time ago.

Anyhow here is my late war Gebirgsjager impression. It's not perfect but what is :D

Cheers,

Josh

Josh,i have one of those tan water jkts which i like a lot but never put any insignia on it as wasnt sure if the camo jkts were badged up like the tunics-did you base yours on any pics?

Thanks

heh... those are mostly wrong... :) Fun!... but wrong... :)

Having leg protection stops most of the nasties getting in the private places in the first place!

I sincerely hope you knew I was joking in relation to first hand evidence!!!!! :D

There are pics of camo tunics with and without insignia. When mine arrives, I shall just have a chest eagle, shoulderboards and that's it. However, I have seen pics of camo tunics completely blinged up, with medals, collar patches, the works!

Excellent get-up Josh, very impressive. I wondered about the bling on the camo jackets, but I guess that's answered my question!

Another one - aren't those infantry waffenfarbe on the boards/litzen?

Thanks for the positive comments guys. :D

Yes those are infantry shoulder boards and collar tabs but I dont know where I can get authentic Gebirgsjager ones. I would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction for them!

I should be recieving my new early war uniform this week - M36 feldgrau jacket and M40 trousers - I will just have collar tabs, shoulder boards and edelweiss arm patch on those. I also poicked up one of the AGM MP40s today so I am going to give it all its first run in at Ambush Wargames Eversley this weekend! :)

Cheers,

josh

At the Front should be able to do you gebirgs shoulder straps and collar insignia

Late war it wasnt unheard of for units to get stock white ones from what ive read due to supply shortages.

If I know Flib, he probably used a genuine WW2 camera and film! 8)

In this case it is down to the film-type; a "slightly" expired, roll of Fuji Superia 400. The faster ISO films, like 400 or 800, tends to be more grainy then 100 or 50 ISO current day films. I did desaturate those photos in photoshop as the colour had turned out a bit purplish. (I think that roll of film was a year past its sell-by date .)
There are some film brands out there that are made to old recipies. Those can give you a nice grainy picture too if you want. I like ADOX CHS 100 ART or Fomapan 100.

If the lens of the Dollina had anything to do with it I would bet it was because of the lack of coating. It does have a tendency to flare a bit.

This is what ADOX 100 film can do in a Kodak Retina II : Victorian/Edwardian Lady :)

I know I promised pictures of me in my USAS uniform....but I'm kind of waiting on my FS Cap to go with it. To finish it off. The WW1 Event in "Zonnebeke" is coming up in two weeks time, I'm hoping to snap a few pictures there (With WW1 Cameras).

Ghah, I can yarn for hours about WW2 cameras. Someone please stop me!

Now I need to source some green leather webbing and do a bit of research for appropriate insignia
