The tent (well half of it) does actually go in the pack. But in the extender bit that you don't have.

BTW, I have an SOF leather helmet strap that you can have. I found a nicer one at the leeds show.

Yeah I know, but soon I will have the extender bit, well in a bit. So I put the two shelter halves in the haversack bit so it looked like it had something in it. Just not got the pegs in.

Ta for the offer, but the leather strap was a shortage (From SoF) so my replacement is in the post now.

Yup shaving works.

It was common for best bd to be shaved for 'walking out' to make it smarter.

I used to shave my beret as a soldier to take the fuzz off it for parades and the like.

Best way to make serge really comfy is to *use it*, in not much time at all it gets worn smooth inside.

Pair of Ron Hill Tracksters as an undergarment, comfy and easily washable ...as long as you don`t wear stilettos with them you`ll be fine :D

I used to wear Ron Hills under my feldgrau's but found found them a pain with them slipping down and when trying to answer the call of nature, so I switched to some lightweight base layer long johns. Had no problems since. Best way to stop serge itching is to keep the damned stuff away from your skin in the first place, with a shirt and long johns, in my experience!

The Doughboys stuff is nearly all here. And that haversack is bloody heavy with a tent in it (I know it isn't meant to go in it, but I thought I'd see if it could fit in)

To come = Leather helmet strap, Helmet Netting, Wool shirt, 82nd Patch, First Aid Pouch (and own M1 Garand)

Real Nice Craig!

I roll up my HBTs in a dry bag for the internals of my pack, pads it out nicely, tent halves stay in a box in the car until tent building time 8)
